Get Stuck

Thought this would be the best place to put this, in the "How To Get Stuck" section

I had a wrecker come out, 3 exact minutes and a $100 bucks later I was on the road, not even down long enough to have a log book insertion, wrecker guy said he is at this exact location ALL the time, WTH city fund raiser???

Moral??

Be careful driving on a plowed road, what appears to look and to be plowed just like the rest of the road may actually be a 5' drop off

PS
I didn't Jack Knife, I was coming out of a side lot

Yar, I've been there and done that a few more times than I actually will admit. It's bad when that situation is at the end of your own driveway

In my case its due to being on a narrow country road. If I don't risk riding the edge, the telephone pole or 50+ year old tree could become part of the trailer. So its a risk every time I pull out.

And everyone should know, its not just a matter of the drop-off. It's also a matter of the tires on the truck. Before anyone 'not-in-the-know' speaks up about different types of AT tires... those don't work very well for OTR work as they wear quickly and make the ride noisy and uncomfortable. Our highway tires on the otherhand do not like even the slightest popsicle under them... we can't get moving. Empty is even worse since there is no weight on the drives.

It is terrible to say that I have been tempted to chain up just to get out of the driveway... but then its easier to fire up the tractor and drag the truck into the road

2 wd and highway tread really make in a fun combo. I was doing some trailer tires and light maintenance yesterday and I got stuck. What a mess I made getting out!

I couldnt even get my trailer in the shop yesterday to replace a tail light because of the slightest ice on the ground. I sat on some cardboard and froze my ass off!!!
