I bought an Infinity GN400 on 09/02/2009. I promised an opinion on it and here it is. The base price was $13,900.00 with the chrome wheel package and spare tire and wheel. I ordered it with the following upgrades. 9000K Pierce winch with wireless remote for $800.00. 3 aluminum ramps for $900.00. Electric over hydraulic disk brakes for $1600 for a total of $17,200.00. The trailer weights 7900lbs empty with all the straps, ramps, etc. on board.

My first impressions were that this was the trailer I always wanted!!
My second impressions are that it is still pretty close to my first impressions.
The trailer pulls like a dream and stops better than I could have imagined.
The lower deck is solid and the top deck is expanded metal so loading freight is possible. The loading angles are pretty good on the rear dove tail although the trailer is very low in the rear and drags quite a bit. It did not come with any kind of rear skids so I had them added on after I got it home. I also added 16 "D" rings for more tie down locations. I also added tire chain hangers on the front and a second spare tire rack. I will soon be adding an on-board compressor and 5 gal. air tank. The upper deck is 57" high at the rear point when the upper deck is in its max. raised position. This is not as high as I would like. I have found that many cars will not fit under this deck far enough to load 2 more cars behind it. This limits the trailer to 3 cars when they are to tall or have a short front bumper to windshield length. A corvette fits nice under the upper deck but a Honda Accord wont go all the way under the upper deck. Also the approach angle from the lower deck to the upper deck is a little to steep. I have come very close to rubbing a few front valance's. I fixed this problem by carrying 2 three foot long 2x10's to drive on before going on to the upper deck. I have had 3 E350 vans on here with ladder racks and parts bins on them and was within my weight range. The ramps on the rear do not come off the trailer (pin-on) so they don't go as wide as I would like. I will add more pics when I can find them.
So, there it is. If anyone has questions, please feel free to ask. Lee

do you like the tri axel or would twin duals work the same?

This trailer could not be made with duals unless some real fancy work was done to the frame where the axles mount. The frame is to wide. I like the 3 axle design for length from center of front axle to kingpin. Duals would make this about 5 feet longer and still maintain the bridge. I think the frame beams would have to be thicker to accommodate the extra length which would increase your pin weight. Unless your using at least a small tractor like an FL, this would screw with your weights. I've heard the arguments regarding 3 axles vs. 2. More bridge tolls, tire wear, etc. I like 3 axles.

thanks for the info. i have a tri axel, but it's only been used locally at construction sites, etc. i found the tires wore real fast, but then there was a lot of backing, turning and such with fairly heavy loads. so how long might you get from a set of tires?

I tend to get between 40/50k on Chinese tires. I get around 75k on the Firestone Transforce tires. I hear people are getting over 100k on Goodyear G641's. All on tri-axles.

Sounds like a great trailer!

The Goodyear G614 tires rock & if you can find a deal, buy them! (Make sure your rims are heavy enough first!) Paid through the nose on the first two, but got a decent deal on the remaining four & have found a better price again. :)

I have one of those and i like it. the extra car is money in the bank. Buster is right on on the ramps, I too carry a 2/10 for the lower cars. don't need to buy paint and body work. mine is for sale as a package deal with my truck. but I would like to keep it

No I have not had time or a trailer I was willing to damage while trying it. I'll get to it soon.
