As of 01/01/2010, we can finally do the 'real' speed limit! IL has been a split speed limit for so long, that I always hated coming home. Now the speed limit goes to normal for us. We finally get to go up to 65mph outside of urban areas!

In most places there are 'acceptable' limits higher than posted. Even ISP(troopers) know that 55 is dumb and typically let yu get away with something more appropriate. For example, I-80 between Morris and Quad Cities you can do about 61-62 without issue passing troopers in the median. I-55 south out of Channahon is somewhat ok with 60mph, but in some areas like near Bloomington, you should ease up a bit. Get near Springfield and bring it back down to the limit. ;)
