Ive been saying this for a long time. As much as everybody hates uship, it is conquering the logistics field.
To be honest, I wouldnt be suprized if CD starts slowing down after a few more years. More and more brokers are using uship with there automated bidding, it used to be a select few like gizmo, willhaulit, DBR, then came montway and an abundance of others where you lose track. Its just plain silly. And once these brokers understand how to use the automated system instead of manually doing it, its really gonna hurt the market.
Ive also seen numerous brokers give loads out to non compliant carriers. Brokers will put up a fake name and just do a couple feedbacks, then do that all over again to not leave traces. I verified this by comparing CD and USHIP loads at same time. These arent high end brokers, these are you fly by night brokers.
I just grabbed this off uship now....
For the last 29 years, Inc. Magazine has put out its annual Inc. 500 Fastest-Growing Private Companies list -- and today it released the 2010 edition. New to this year's list, coming in at No. 378, is uShip. Naturally we're thrilled to be a part of this prestigious pack, which was assembled based on revenue growth from 2006 to 2009. During this time, uShip saw 790% jump in revenue. Inc. 500 alumni include Microsoft, Zappos, Intuit, GoDaddy, Zipcar, Clif Bar, American Apparel, Oracle and many more, so we're humbled to be a part.
So, what does this mean for the transportation industry in the years to come???
I dont know, but ive been watching uship vigerously for over 3 years now, I started when brokers didnt know about it other then willhaulit and DBR. Where fake shipments were maybe only at 60% where as now its 90%.
As for manual bidding, it can be a complete waste of time, but for automated bidding or load posting, prices are worse the CD as non compliant carriers are getting filthy poor from the cheap loads they are taking from legit brokers. (legit doesnt mean whats right)

I know for a fact that one of the upper FMCSA guys in the north east is now lock-on with his radar to Uship. I have contacts with FMCSA in Montana, Idaho, Washington, Oregon. Now they know that this new FMCSA contact in looking at the ones from uShip that I turned in to the state offices by all the emails I forward to him. I hope they take out uShip and all the illegals on there.

ive been noticing lately they changed there fees. Just put a bid in for $5500 and uship only makes $171. Before it would of been they made like $600-700. So that is a pleasant thing they are doing for carriers.
But it might be a loop hole or a distraction. I noticed a few months ago on the shippers end that there is fees also that the carrier cannot see. So maybe it still might be the same. who knows.
So maybe my $5500 bid which i see is $5671 but maybe the shipper sees $6100. Ive been alot on uship lately, got a strike a few days ago, and im sure i will get suspended by next month even if I dont play on there at all. Because all my crazy notes I put in there for them cheap ass shippers will get flagged sooner or later by an illegal because they fealt threatened that my $2000 bid will hurt there $900 bid!!!!
In the end, I need a brokers license, because I will "ru(i)n" uship. I will have a cheap auto bid setup and in notes I will put something about this is budget pricing. Get there deposit, and never get it moved. Not only will I be playing the customers game of I want cheapest quote, I will give it to them, make my $200 per car, and when there car doesnt move, I will explain why. so when I upsell to actually move there car, I will charge another $75 to have the carrier send me for the extra work the customer is making me do it.
In the end, I will be contributing to not a scumbag broker, but I will be doing the economy better!!! How do you say?? Because I will be creating jobs for myselff and maybe a few extra girls. And teaching society that CHEAPER IS NEVER BETTER!!!!! I will pass off these cheap loads to anybody that wants them, even with horrible feedback. I will make 100k plus a year off uship alone and not do much work.........................
Am I wrong for doing this???? I dont think so, if you cant beat the crowd, join the crowd and be a line leader...... And when I start to get bad ratings, I will post in comment I TOLD YOU SO YOU CHEAP BASTARD. And IF, and that is a big IF, because uship customers dont care about feedack, wether its no feedback or horrible feedback. THEY SEE PRICE. THATS ALL.
Again, my option of standard quote is available, but standard quotes on uship are not on par and will be a waste of time.
I think if everybody did this, uship would close its doors, millions of cheap bastards would learn a lesson, and we can even make a buck doing this...... Just watch, I will be the next montway auto transport on uship, or DAK, or any other cheap ass broker. But my bid will be cheaper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!
YEP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CHEAPER IS BETTER, dont you know it???!!!!!

Question I have is what is the percentage of Cars on UShip compared to everything else on UShip??
Just because UShip posted a 790% in revenue that is related to items being shipped through UShip, it doesn't mean that whole 790% increase was all car shipments.
Sure, guys here may think it's all "Cars" being shipped, but UShip's targetted customers is everything from Grannys Old Antigue Freezer being sold on E-Bay to Sissys Thoroughbred Horsie she's wanting moved from Key West to Seattle. CD, McNutt, and other "Car Hauling" outlets only have 1 customer they're targetting, and that's the customer wanting a Car shipped.
So, look at UShip as a whole when it comes to EVERYTHING they have listed, and then see if that 790% increase in revenue is actually effecting the overall car shipping business. My bet, cause of all the ruckus generated when it comes to hauling vehicles through UShip, that "Car" shipments on UShip might be the smallest classified listings on UShip after all.
But, I haven't looked at that site in so long (aint worth the time or effort), I might be wrong after all.

I could care less about the other markets as I target autos. But autos has always been the money maker on uship. Currently 3212 cars, 1831 ltl, 1200 hhg, boats 1200, motorcycles 1600, then everything else is below 1000.
Nah, uship has come along way, they have carrier verified now so they are taking babysteps. I can see uship being more of a centralized load board instead of being uship (ushit). Yah, you have to work harder but stuff can be had at good prices. Just gotta have alot of time on your hands. Give it another few more years, I bet people will think different of it then. I really wish uship would either get rid of illegals period or give more information about illegals and informing customer and let them choose during placing shipment 2 options, verified or illegal while placing a few small paragraphs explaining illegals and what could happen........ Yah,, right...

With these figures right here, Cars are only about a 3rd of what UShip customers are seeking to have moved. Out of that 3200 or so cars listed, I am pretty sure that 2/3rds of those (about 2000) are from EBay "window shoppers", not buyers, who are looking to see how much it's going to cost them to get that 2004 Focus shipped from Davenport Iowa to Provo Utah before they place a bid for that car, and once all the bids are finally submitted, they end up not bidding on/buying the car after all due to how much it's going to cost to get it shipped to them. So, that one car "listing" will sit there for weeks as an unfulfilled request for a bid/price. (and there are probably 100's of these on UShip right now)
Not to rain on your UShip parade, but until UShip opens the door for better communications between people who are looking to have a car shipped and legitimate qualified car haulers, other "Car Hauling" venues (Brokers-CD-McNutt-Etc) have no worries when it comes to UShip dominating the car hauling industry as an online dispatch/load board service.

Uship finally made national tv.................
You notice all the illegals on the video. FUCKING FUNNY. I cant stop laughing. They lied so much. Like the hhgs mover with f150. How about saying they can cut prices down to a 1./3 by not being legal. HAHA FUNNY AS HELL.. Even the news media doesnt know shit. I hope DOT pulls up that license plate and fines the hell out of him for not having hhgs authority. You have full physical proof right there.
