I talked to a salesman from Miller this summer & asked about their deck coating. Here is what they use & his response...

"You can purchase the same stuff at CF Bender by the gallon. We use 10 gallons on a new trailer. Be sure to degrease the trailer good before applying the new coating. Takes about 48 hours to cure.

CF Bender ( 1-800-366-3907 ) Ask for Gary and tell him Larry from Miller sent you.

Davis Non Skid Coating ( Grey )"

Definitely a good thing to have with winter arriving, sure wish I would have bought the stuff back in August when I asked about it.

Was looking for something else when I found this. I ordered some from Auto Hauler Supply & once again did not get it on the trailer before the weather changed last fall. The regret is last week I had to winch a operable 2WD truck on the top deck. Zero degree weather & 2/3" snow/ice pack on the ground & the truck was not a climber.

Will update when ever the stuff actually goes on...

Well then I suggest you book a load to FL, drop the cars, run the trailer through the Streakin Beacon and break out a paint roller and sip Mai Tais on the beach for a couple days.

Just don't get it on your Hootus (http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=18595)

P.S. Gerald Jarrett is NOT related to me.

Nice topic. I have to order some straps from Steve at AHS this week. Maybe I'll take Brad's advice and order some... and Mike's advice and head for da beach!!!

Once in a while I have to drag an inop onto the trailer that won't roll. SOMETIMES its nice that its a little slimey. MOST of the time though its a PITA!!!!

Think I spent around $130 for two gallon, but ordered a quart or something of grit. Suppose to go on in two coats, with the second coat to get the extra quart. The odd part was that is ships out of a separate location & shipping on it was almost as much as the quart.

Steve also has a rep in MI somewhere, Gunnar I think is his name, which is who this was ordered through.
