I beleive they went out of biz about 8 months ago but the company was southern comforts out of ga or al. Trucks are already fully loaded to the max from the factory, plus a little hillbilly touch with paint, lift, rims/tires. Think the price tag was in the 60's per truck.

Coop,
So which trailer do you like better? The Wedgie or the 4loader? I know that the 4loader is shorter say 10 ft, right? But how is the weight distribution on the 4loader? Anyway, I love seeing your load pics. Especially the Copart cars.
Just asking,

Each trailer has it pros and cons.
Take 3 is nice due to quality of deck and 6500 curb weight and handle speciatly loads or 3 vans which I did alot.
Take 3 sucks due too 51 foot long plus flip ramps which make you really long.
Kaufman is nice due to being 47 feet long and I swear the bridge is alot smaller also. loading 3 SUVS and a car is nice also, or just 4 cars. Have to watch my height though with taller SUVS on top rear. All and All, Kaufman pro loader is better IMHO, but you really cant compare the both as they suit different types of loads, although they both mainly haul autos if that makes sense.

Nope!!!! Makes me wonder myself, i bet its pretty close.Them axles on kaufman are closer to truck
That four car would have to be about the same empty weight as the Take 3, or within a thousand pounds isn't it?
One of those could be interesting, wish they squeeze some tandems under there though.

Coop do you ever feel like the truck is overloaded? I know the motor is good but man that would scare me  Still nice to see how that truck is holding up. Speaks well of the Dodge truck. When you get a new truck what will it be?
ccoop769
07-11-2010, 07:11 AM
Nah, weight should only be about 34k on the scales. I wouldnt call that overloaded!!! All the heavyness is on the rear of the trailer, so maybe the rear end is still under 9350 pounds. Either way, its not as bad as people think it is. Truck can take off, truck can stop, its only 27,000 pounds of dead weight back there.
As far as another truck, i love my dodge, but its just too small. What I get next all depends on what my credit will give me once my truck is paid. I thought I could have help from family on getting another truck but that a big no!!! This company has only been in business for a year too so my company credit is a non existant now too. We shall see what happens in a year or 2. Maybe the economy will do better, maybe we will have a new president, maybe something will change. Who knows, but signatures for me these days dont do anything.
But I like m2's!!! lol Theyre cute little trucks!!!

In that pic it looks like your tire is trying to eat through your fender
Good looking load though. I was wondering how the trailer would do with a "big" vehicle on the back. Have any room left?
ccoop769
07-11-2010, 12:58 PM
Alot of room, i got 67 feet of cargo space on a 47 foot trailer.
The crack in the fender was from a bad mount and it broke on the tire. I never touch the tire or come close, They all look like that. I really doubt my pin weight is not much more then normal.
As far as loads on this trailer, i have had a copart bike up top with a small suv and car up top, with a car in belly and a e350 12 foot box truck on back. Appearently I was legal due to the inspection we got. No pics though, that driver didnt like cameras

ccoop769

ccoop769
07-13-2010, 08:41 PM
Most of the time use chains on frame or axle straps with chains but alot of these dang new cars dont have spots for chains. No biggie if you got a small milk crate or step stool to give you the height you need to strap her up.

Perhaps a motorcycle in each of the pickup beds?
I'm with Cosgo, that isn't enough truck for this trailer fully loaded. I push the limits of my 1-ton and am always arranging the cars to try to keep weight on the trailer and not the drives. I'm in the same boat as you, I really need go get another year out of my 1 ton... I need it to hold up. No way your drive axles are legal in many of these pics.
I know that you know that, but I would really consider hitting a CAT scale and paying the $9 on a few of these big loads so that you can learn where your truck SHOULD be and just exactly how far over you are. I've never heard of DOT hitting a guy for being over on the drives in a 1-ton but it could happen. Just like your CCS setup, you ran it for a very long time before you got hammered for it.
I have been checked for axle ratings at a scale while only having three on & a guy out of Michigan was checked for what his tires were rated at years ago. Tire rating may help him with the larger size, but agree that the trailer weight plus four vehicles is too much for a one ton.
cosgo
07-20-2010, 08:43 PM
Just when you think youre not going to get checked.....
I was in the middle of nowhere Colorado on the back roads, and was pulled into a make shift weigh station with one car on my trailer (was driving my M2 and Sun Country), they scaled each of my axles and the DOT officer specifically said to me "we like to check your the axle weights of you car haulers". Seriously?? one car on the trailer and he scaled me. Didnt check a single piece of paper, no log book check, nothing. just scaled my 3 axles one at a time and let me go..

Possibly found a truck I can get with no credit check!! Its a 2007 model with 1500 miles. ORIGINAL. Not titled in 2 years. MINT. FULLY LOADED WITH EVERY OPTION. Sticker 102k. Red Tag says 59k. Think my driver said I could score it for around 45-50k 0 interest. Basically $800 per month 5 year.
Not a chevy fan, (sorry cosgo), and not a fan of the price, but my credit is killing me and I need a bigger truck while I still have another trailer. Whats your thoughts on this truck and what to expect if I get it other then a crap load of fuel issues????
BTW, i know my day will come with the rear axle, im just milking it for everything I can right now!!!! I cant haul around 3 cars on a wedge, there is no money in that w/ a driver.

too broke to buy another trailer. But having 2 trucks out on the road would help me save alot quicker to put a 7 car behind her:eek::eek:
jk of course!!! My rehire driver now actually used to drive exact same truck but without the extra luxeries of the inside this one has. And he loved it. Ive never driven 1 other then the uhaul model.
To be honest if I did get this, the 4 car would be on this truck and wedge on my dodge. You would think this truck has more balls then the dodge??? Its bigger and would keep me really legal on specs. Im happy with a 4 car behind it if I got her..... But its a chevy............................................. ...................................:(:(
im scared my signature might say
--6.7 cummins w/ 320,000 miles--
--Broke Down Chevy w/ 30,000 miles--
That truck would be perfect for your four car Kaufman. Should be 330 hp & 650 torque so no worries on the power. Like the Dodges, the 4500's have a lower hp rating than the 3500's, but you can fix that.
The main things to look for with it is the gear ratio & which Allison it has. You want either the 2250 or 2350.
Other than that, it should be good to go.
With all that said, I would still look for a good used big truck for less than half that $45-$50k D-max. There are trade offs no matter which way you go.
While I know everyone says to grab a single axle with a Detroit, think what that single prop truck is going to do running the north east in the winter. Everyone has seen the Fed Ex trucks off in the ditch running the hills in the winter. Tandem will smack ya a bit more on fuel & tires year around, so you really have to decide which risk you are more comfortable with.

Seems like an AWFUL lot of $$$ for what is essentially a 1 ton powertrain... The local auction uses these as rollbacks and have had a fair amount of problems. 06/07 models. At least one turbo each. Fuel control issues. Injector issues.
Its a good motor for what it was designed for... in a 1 ton pulling grandpa's camper or the daughter's ponies... Not really meant for what we do day in and day out.
I melted a hole in a piston on mine. Chomping at the bit to get out of it and into something like Bayou's rig or Cosgo's M2... I'm just too cheap!!

Its a matter of of my situation too. No cash, no credit :( As much as i would be scared to get it, it might be my best bet now as I prolly wouldnt get anything for the next 2 years. And my other trailer would be sold by then. No, its not much more then a 1 ton, but it is more. My truck is 2wd, driver said this 4500 is alot smoother then my truck. Gotta take airbags off my truck though and put back in bumpstops.
Doesnt mean if cosgo wanted to work a deal with me on financing?? lol. I love cosgos truck, dont get me wront. Thing I would be worried about the m106 is the mb motor. 500k on a mb motor sound like it is at the end of its lifetime almost?? no expert but you read what you read. Just like saying the chevy is a pos, which im sure it is, but a pos is better then nothing even if it gave me problems........... I dont come by these deals often, (financing) if I can get it done at that. Now is the perfect time to get something for my situation as it is now to get both trucks running. people say all the time that when the truck is in the shop its covered under warranty but we all know shops dont care that you use the truck for work the longer its in the shop the more $$$ your out and that $800 truck note is still due and that driver has bills to pay also

Coop, I had 2 5500's, and one had the bigger trans, one had the smaller one (like in the one ton) I had no problems with the 5500 that had the bigger trans. Pulled good (3 car wedge), no real downtime the whole time i drove it. I found maintenance easy as you can pull in any chevy dealer and they can work on it, most of the time, if you tell them you are under a hot load, they'll work you in quicker. I averaged about 10mpg. Down fall is that the air ride seat is a bit rough, not like whats in my Freighshakers, and the back seat is not big enough to be DOT legal (although it was comfortable) I really liked mine. If I wasnt going broke (due to a real bad driver) I'd have kept it.

I think your nuts if you spend that kind've of money on that truck. What happens after 3 years & you still owe big money on it. Been there done that, won't happen again. Find a cheap SA to pay cash for & fix it up. $50k is a lot of money. You should have no problem paying cash for a $7k truck being that your making $6k a week:D Brad would probably sell you his whole set-up for less than $50k. Your decision man, but really think it through, I've been down that road & it isn't a good one.

Crap, i spent 50k on my truck im using now. granted that includes 9.9 interest rate!!! if the chevy were to treat me like my dodge is, i have no problem doing it again!! yah, no payments would be nice, but so would 2 trucks on the road. i understand what your all saying, but saving in my household is hard right now. Everytime I get money in the bank, people want to collect more debt I owe. Still paying off old debt from my last business that I gave up on. Worst decision ever, was netting more then 125k a year working 4-5 days a week 4 hours a day out in houston. As you can see, im not the best decision maker, but things get done around here.
Anywho, its hard saving around here no matter how much I make, I just pay off debt quicker which is still good. I just figure it would be easier to spend 50k on a truck over 5 years then save up 15k or so for a used truck. I dont know, yes, decisions!!! arghhhh

Hell I'd at least buy one with a sleeper set up. At least you can do that in your Dodge. Going back to hotels is going to suck. There are plenty of single axle sleepers on Truckpaper that have the same engines as those trucks but are newer. I know you talking about the financing as the sweet part of the deal but if your going to spend 50k you can get a lot more truck. just my thoughts.

Is that Camper company up in Tulsa, OK that made a couple of these things still open??
They were in direct competition with Capri Campers down in here in Texas with the designs of these units, but took it a step by further by creating 2 of these trucks as you see above. (I think the other was was white) This picture has gotta be 5-6 years old, and when they took this picture to put it on their website, the interior was not installed yet.
I wanted to have this thing installed on my 2004 Dodge Dually, but common sense got the best of me back then. I wasn't willing to invest the extra $8-$10,000 they wanted for this set-up to run RV's with at $1.00 a mile back then.

Yah, no $hit. Im pissed myself!! I can buy alot for 50k. Including your setup. But like i said, im stupid. I paid 50k for my truck, so in my head, im paying the same for something bigger. I dont mind paying 50k, i would never pay cash 50, but hey, its the things you gotta do to grow. If i can get this financed, its sold. Its sucks its a 50k chevy but 2 trucks is better then one. I can pay off debt alot quicker with 2 trucks. Even with a $800 payment. Again, if you know anybody that can help with financing a poor soul as myself to let me get your stuff, let me know before monday;)

http://www.duramaxdieselspecs.com/duramax_vin.html
I have known how to identify which Duramax it is (LLY-LBZ-LMM-Etc) for quite a while now, but look at the auction coop has listed above, scroll down to the one picture that shows the vin #, and then look at it closely. The "8th" digit is a 9!! I cannot find any reference anywhere that identifies which Duramax that is.
Either way, I'm with others here on coop buying this truck. Within 6 months it'll probably just end up being another bad financial decison on his part if he has a chance to buy it. 1 being these things are money pits to maintain, warranty or not. The suspension on these things are not worth a crap and beat everything, motor-tranny-interior-driver-passengers, to death thus leading to high high maintenance costs trying to keep everything together. You can literally find dozens of these things on Truckpaper.com that are right at the 100K mark. You know why that is? They are all Fleet returns where the customer that was leasing them opted not to buy out the lease due to the hell they went through with these trucks during their lease period.
And 2, coop keeps talking about wanting to get rid of his financial problems. Well, getting oneself $50,000 further in debt is not the way to handle any sort of financial problems one may have. If he can get someone to finance this brand new truck with the problems he speaks of, then he should have no problem finding financing, credit check or no credit check, for some sort of $10-$15-$20,000 decent used rig to get by for now. Trust me Coop, this dealership will not find a "no credit check" financing source to put you in this truck no matter what they're telling you. Earn your way up to this truck. Beans and rice - Beans and rice is the motto you need to learn to live by for the time being. If you have to eat beans and rice for the next 2-3-7 years to get your financial problems under control, then by all means, do it.

My financial debt is not from this business but from my last business I just walked away from. I know dealers can work magic because thats how I bought my ford 250 in houston with the no credit check type deal.
if this truck is not ment to be, then so be it. As for investing 50k into a business for it to grow, then so be it again.
Most business cost money to start, and cost more to grow, not everybody has cash up front.
"you need to spend the money to make the money" heard that saying before??
Ive tried to get 10k loans, it aint happening.
I dont need to eat beans and rice. I AINT BROKE!!! Just had steak 2 nights ago, prime rib last night. I may have a couple oodles and noodles in my drawer but I like those.
Anywho, i have a plan, may not be the smartest plan, but its still a plan. My credit is still destroyed from years ago, and Im trying to put this under the company name too.
2 trucks running is alot more then 1 truck, and If i cant just keep it going smooth for 6 months, i can be complety out of debt, and actually start saving.
What would you be saying if I bought another dodge??? Remember I paid 50k for my dodge!!!!!! Its only $800 a month.
The company is doing fine, making money, so fourth, I see no reason at all this would be a bad decision.
Are you pushing towards the chevy is a bad idea or spending 50k to help the company grow????
You know my little red truck has grossed about $16k in 2 weeks. If I can get both running good just for 6 month, i think everything would be fine and dandy.
In the end, if the financing falls through, i will not be mad. Almost n a way glad. Because it is a 50k chevy.
I just dont think about that though, what goes thru my head is its another income coming in, not more debt. I have no problem at all paying $800 a month.
But hey, if the dealer says no, which im sure they will anyways, i will just go buy a pos for 10k cash, and it will prolly break down with my luck within the first few months.
Anywho, life is life, you only live once!!! unless of course you believe in reserection.
Im just trying to grow the company now, not later, and If I think i have a chance to do it, I will. Because I know i can make money with another truck, just gotta find that other truck. And again, i prolly only need 6 healthy months to do it, and If I fail, I fail. No biggie, life is full of failures. You learn from your mistakes and move on. Im 29, what else do you expect from a 29 year old. I sure as hell aint no dr..............

your thinking is right Go big OR Go home
Thats my way of thinking too. hehe. Curious though on your situation. May I ask why your downgrading??? All of us on here always talk about going big and getting bigger, more cars/flatbed space equals more money. Why do you want to get a 1 ton and a wedge??? Thats starter material, sounds like maybe youve been doing this for awhile since we know your not a company driver......
hmm, sarasota, not to far from me, maybe around a good long hour. Used to work in sarasota with my last business, or at least a few dealers down there, bmw/landrover, mb, and a few independants. They have some nice sportchassis on exit 205 at the bmw/land rover dealer.
time for a change youve heard term been there done that, with a 9 you alwaays want 12 or more . have other opps with the route im going and will reduce my opperating expensis.there is alot more to maintain on a stinger.and really the full loads are not out there anymore unless u like to work for free. as to how you put it its not a downgrade to me .when you take away alot of stress might be upgrade.

I've spoke to many a 9/10 car guy out there and as I understand from them a 3/4 car wedge can make as much due to the fact your not in a city for 3/4 days loading and unloading. In fact that is exactly what the last guy told me that he made more with his wedge than is 10car. Hell his insurance was 1500.00 per month and god knows what maintenance cost he had per year. I don't know about the rest of you guys but I hate loading and unloading. I like being on the road driving to my next paycheck. I'd probably go stir crazy in a city for 3 days not making any money.

Expedited. I think that's why the 3/4 car guys can do well, if they are good and make smart decisions... Our timeline is generally shorter. In one day you can drop 3 and pick up 3 even over a fair sized geographic area and still roll out of that town. Everyone I know with 7-10 car rigs will spend a couple of days in Kansas City rounding up cars where I've loaded and delivered...
When we first started using Central to fill holes, we would always tell them our time frame and they would question it "that fast? Are you sure? I'll pad it by a couple of days..."

Coop,
sometimes you have to take a leap of faith. I was broke as a joke, with busted gear, living on ramen noodles, back living at home with the parents. It was time to quit, or take a big leap of faith. I thought long and hard about what to do. I wanted to buy a cheap rig and just "get by" for a bit, but then i thought, one good break down and im dead in the water. Everyone told me i was dumb for buying a new truck when i was broke, but i gotta say, it was the best decision i ever made. the first 12 months of owning it, i ran my ass off, and turned enough cash to pay off all my debt and put money into a second rig. If i had a breakdown, it wouldve sunk me. having a new rig was the key to my success at the time. Today things are different, and this was just my experience, so take it with a grain of salt, but it could be the right decision. Im not too sure about that 4500 youre looking at, but if thats what you can get financed, then so be it.
thats good advise i learned the hard way frist month i was o/o on what i thought was a good USED truck was at (cat) putting on a new head.alot of money spent and lost at same time. that started to spending spree every time i turned around it was something.atleast with a new trk you can make some money to help pay when u need it
you heard right a 9/10 can sit alot cause you need more cars to move and it sucks to sit especially when its hot and we all know what kind of money you can spend at trk stop or u are at auction with no services.im to the point if i cant make x i will not go out.a cheap load dont pay for the risk IE broken hydro hose expensive tires and so on.

There are a lot of drivers on the road with wives due and with many kids. Its a choice you that you make. Not that you have no choice. Not picking on you Coop, I make the same choices I have 2 kids and I CHOOSE to spend as much time as I can at home and out goofing around with my family. And I know in the end it costs me money but heck kids are only kids once.
Myself I'd look for a less risky and simpler solution look for a route you can run with very minimal away time. I've run like that pretty much for the last two years and while I'm not getting rich I enjoy my family time and have nowhere near the headaches you have experienced with all the drivers and BS.

http://www.8lugtruckgear.com/Black-Ops-6-7-Exhaust-Wastegate-Kit-p546.html
BOD wastegate kits are designed to reduce harmful power robbing Drive Pressures. The 6.7 is equipped with a VGT (Variable Geometry Turbo) which has shown itself to be inefficient in properly evacuating the increased volumes of exhaust gasses produced by a Mild to Heavy Modified 6.7 cummins engine. Installation of the External Wastegate Kit allows the harmful exhaust gasses to be vented properly instead of causing increased cylinder pressures, which have been directly linked to head gasket failures. Insurance for your head gasket are the primary purpose of the EWG kits but a positive side effect is a increase in usable torque. Increased drive pressures create additional parastatic loss. Installing an EWG kit is very effective protection and prevention of very expensive engine repairs and an inherent benefit of an increase of useable torque

Drove my friends truck about a month or 2 ago for a few hours to pick up a local load and had to go over a small steep bridge (sunshine skyway) in st pete,fl. wow is all I can say with the 60 hp tune.

A day at Casperson's Beach in Venice, a day at Busch Gardens, a day at Fort Desoto (notice the Pinellas Byway entries and the .75 SSS entries? Because we were trailerless!) and a day split between Sanibel and Ft. Myers Beaches... It was a nice change of pace from my usual in/out of FL as quick as possible...
Oh, and Haulin', I cut out all the boring Turnpike entries... just left the interesting bridge entries. My Sunpass bill was none too pretty the last couple of months either... Prolly, nothin compared to Coop's though!

I hear those 4 car trailers blow alot of tires... have any problems with it? I run a wedge with dual tandems and I would like to open the door for one more car but I don't like the idea of triple axles.

Only destroyed chinese tires. Never have had any problems transforce tires. Guess you could always put 2 single 10ks or 3 8ks as an option. Think this was our first bearing blowout on this trailer and weve put some miles on her already so I guess I cant complain too much on the ezlubes. Even though I still think this could of been prevented but thats the past now so..... I think have 2 singles 10k on it and that would be a great trailer. From the ride quality to less tolls. But for what it is, i dont see any problems with it. I never go above 36k on the scales, even with the big loads I do, then im usually 35k and change. Ive actually done heavier loads on the wedge. As far as bad quality, the mesh grill is my only gripe, and a couple mods to suit low profile cars better would be nice from factory. For the price, I dont think there is any better 4 car out there, these can be had for $6000 avg if you wait around for the deals to come along here and there.
Oh, and ive run 2 different wedges. Triple and dual. Ive went from triple to dually back to tripple and then to this tripple. Dang, think thats too many p's. Anyways, all you have to do is test drive 1. Being 47 feet long with a much smaller bridge makes you think that your driving a 25 foot TT. Plus have 67 foot of deck space leaves alot of options. You see the pics. Wish I had pics of loads with box trucks, seems I always miss the good loads to take the pics.

The winland or whatever they are called on my wedge have been actually pretty good tires for the most part.
I was even thinking about the miniV trailerbut again I have heard problems with blowing of tires. I like the oil axles instead of the ezlube.... I wish they could make either one of these trailers with dual tandems.... I even have looked at the infinity 5 cars but from what I have read on here they are crap.

Dont know, never weigh myself, never been busted yet. I would assume it is really never over dodge 4500 rear end rated. But from the scale readouts at weight stations, i think im at 10 around 10k. Couldnt tell you if that was a heavier load or light load. Maybe when I go out next trip I will go get some cat scale slips with pictures of different loads. Or I guess I can just tell driver to pull into a cat real quick. let you know little later

Also, how stable is the lift part of the trailer? Do the lifts have a locking pin incase of a problem with the hydraulics?
I have never taken a close look at them so thats why all the questions.
Something else I noticed is that it seems it would have ALOT more tail swing then my current wedge trailer.... since you have had both types of trailers is that true?

For the lift, Ive never had any problems with stability, they do have locking pins, and a manual release also. I never measured but since I beleive the bridge is way shorter, that would make more tail swing, but nothing that I notice is dangerous or even consider a tail swing to watch out for.

Now I hold steady at 28-32 psi boost. Simply amazing and much more fun to drive.

And I got to thinking.......are you sure you wanna pump up that 325K mile Cummins like this???
I mean, Yes, it is a Million mile motor, but placing an extra 60HP tuner on this thing and then using that extra 60HP to its max would be like placing a supercharger on a 200K mile 4 cylinder engine in a Pinto. Sooner than later, something's going to pop. Lift Pump??? Velocity Pump?? Head Gasket??? TRANNY???
Out of some of the troubles you've been having lately, that truck has been the main thing you have not been complaining about. Why mess with it?
Just my thoughts, that's all.

Yah, your prolly right. The tuner would be a good thing if it was used properly. Although I couldnt help myself at times. My tranny is tuned and the shifts were even better as the tcm tune was meant to be with the xrt. Guess I wont let driver use it, but for me is another story. Head gaskets arent issues on 6.7s, those are timing and high HP, notthing a external wastegate wouldnt fix.... But still not needed. Definatly not selling the xrt. Just wont let driver use it.

Was too hard to tell. In Nebraska area with all that wind I was getting 8-8.5. From jersey to jax on 95 I was getting 11.1, but that was doing 63 with 4 cars. And I really havent driven with winter fuel yet so its really too hard to tell. Then i was faving fun alot of times with the throttle which isnt what I got it for. Overall I bet I could gain if I used it as a power when need tool. I need to fix my egt gauge also or get another probe but with the higher boost I would imagine good egts, but theres more fuel too. Too early to tell, its de xrt'd now. Gonna go on another trip next week with it off. I felt alot safer with it on though, thats for sure, and im sure my tranny likes it with much less downshifts, as long as the 1-4 arent full throttle, but when it is, she moves..

My wife has pretty much taken over last year. She loves this stuff! We ran together a while and traded out every few weeks for a while, but she runs all over 48 and Canada while I take care of elderly parents. Truck was 3 years old in Aug. Had computer problems at first, but that was sorted out in 1st month. Has been re-flashed everytime a new one comes out. All fluids are Royal Purple since first oil change. Change oil and filter 25,000. Trans is G56 man 6-spd. Changed clutch, pplate, flywheel at 375K. Trans still smooth as silk. Do a lot of pm at home. New u-joints at 390K. At 400K shop in Indiana changed tie-rods, ball joints. 3 ac compressors. Worst trouble was ends blown off radiator in Az. we pull everything from bass boats to 40' toy haulers weighing around 13K to 15K stacks of trailers. I used to deliver stacks of 2-3 Take 3 wedges to NY, CA, NV, etc.

DPF "fell off" and erg unplugged. Smarty Jr clears codes and perks it up a bit. Have a great mechanic and will get valves adjusted when truck is home in a couple of weeks for 2-3 week vacation for mama. Our loads are not as heavy as yours and less wind-catchers. Have a friend with 550K on his dead stock 6.7 that's had less trouble than us. He still has original clutch, DPF in his, but has had 6 ac compressors.

Well, im picking up #4 trailer next week. Its the trailer on CD i think its a 2008 kaufman 4 car, just like im using currently. Comes with all the options. Alum 17.5 tires that are mostly new hankooks. New kodiak disc brakes with 3000 miles. 10k. Guy stepped up bigger truck and trailer..... And for the brakes, I know a few of you hate them, but everybody has there opionions. Im anal anyways with my maintataince and after looking at costs of everything, I beleive it will actually be cheaper to run these vs electric brakes while spending less time f'n with it while have great brakes.
But only time will tell. And even if it is more expensive to maintain, like a couple of you said, then so be it. i can deal with more overhead for greater safety.......

Just remember if you have someone driving for you they can tear stuff up especially these brakes. Luckily they warrantied mine when the trailer was 2 months old. The driver rode the brakes down a mountain using more trailer brake then truck. $2600 was the damage. You don't want to buy a new rotor thats for sure. Good luck with them, they definetly work great, just easy to destroy in a hurry. As far as being cheaper, nope, but you'll see for yourself soon enough.

Maybe prices came down, but you can convert to 13 inch kodiacks for 1900 which includes the actuater.
Or broken down each full axle setup is only $425 dollars, or pads can be bought for 40 for the pair. rotors are pretty cheap too. Although you can have a complete setup of electric brakes on tri axle for 800 shipped, or complete setup of discs for $1350 shipped. I am reading that kodiack does have great warrenty. My thoughts are kodiaks are no different from electric brakes when you brake something, just a tad bit more, but not much. Hopefully they last just as long or longer.
But your right, only time will tell. Either way, im excited to have stronger brakes, and more off time then offtime maintaining truck/trailer.

The belt at $46 is normal list price but they tagged you hard on the pump. New from Cummins or a new unit from an auto parts store would have cut that $300 down considerably.

Man. Ever since I changed out my turbo Ive went from 8-10 mugs to 10-12.5 11 being avg now
I never see under 10 and flat land can avg 12 and can hit 13 being grandpa.
Btw running that 60 hp tune now for about 50k miles. I love that thing.
Thinking about tuning turbo now. Higher dp but 37 psi boost and quicker spool will be nice. Need more gauges though.

Did you just put another stocker on?
Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
coop, You might want to consider that spooling the turbo up too early will shorten it's life considerably especially in a stop and go traffic jam situation. The turbo overheats from all the quick spooling and lack of cooling causing premature failure. If it winds up each time you move in traffic in hot weather, better have a spare on hand.

What kind of turbo did you put on? I have a Phat Shaft 62 and it has no boost until you get pretty high rpms. Do you guys think I would be better off finding a stock one to put on or would something else be better? I don't know if it is the 12mm or 14mm.

I used a stocker since id like to retain the exhaust brake. Couple company's make bigger wheels for the vgt turbo but not priced reasonably. The 6.7s can use a 82+ turbo as a dd as the 5.9s a 62/66 will lag like crazy unless twinned. With that said I don't know what engine u have.
My turbo was prolly dirty the first 60k miles of its like as I didn't do deletes till that time.
Such a shame considering the massive amount of fuel im saving now.

Can a p3 be mounted like this for optimal performance??? I so-called read that a p1 can only be mounted almost straight and a p2 at 360" mounting and p3 had to be perfectly straight and level?????

Nice find! The only thing its missing is the 17.5's. For the price you paid you can buy them any time. I never had any problem with my P3 being mounted how yours is.

Just to clarify, I found this trailer. I get the credit. Hehehe :) yes it is a ez loader 4. As for the trailer in the backround that is the old ez loader we leased off a friend and we are letting him store it here.
The p3's accelerometer is 100% electronic, so essentially it can be at any angle 0-90deg as long as it sits longitudinally with the truck(length-ways).
The older versions had partially mechanical accelerometer's

I bought one (not a Cobra) and the stupid fan runs non stop. Drives me nuts, it's now a back up in the storage compartment.
If some things work as planned I may need that extra inverter. Heck I guess I'll just have to come to Fl and get it, don't want to waste money on shipping.....

So I renewed my med card again. Had an appointment at 3pm. Got there at 255 paperwork filled out before I got there. Called in at 330. Nurse weighed me, urine sampled me, and eye test me, which by the way im 10/20 and 13/20!! EAGLE VISION BABY..... Anyways went into room and said doc will be right in. 1 hour later he walks in puts his scope on my chest 2 times and back 2 times, does a few check marks on papers and signs his name and there you go.
BTW kicker of the story is NOBODY else was there......
I just dont remember it so easy to get a med card, thought they did more stuff to you. Oh well
