Big yes, best... probably not.
At some point, you will most likely have one of their units on your rig. Lately they have become synonymous with 'repo' moves. Meaning... no key, etc etc etc. Also having to deal with 'repo yards' which are also difficult to deal with. the repo operators treat transporters as if they are the repossessing banks customer that defaulted on the loan, and sometimes worse since they limit pickup times. In this business, time is everything. If a transporter has to hit that "Magic" time to pickup a vehicle... sometimes it's worth just leaving it there. The repo yard is in no hurry to get that 'bank paid storage' vehicle out of their lot, so they (most of the time) won't help you with loading or pulling it out of their lot.
URS is also a large scale transporter. They have their own BIG trucks. URS has contracts with GM & Ford in the Midwest. If you can deal with their insurance requirements, you could stay busy(but broke) with a small transporter. Getting on their Factory lists isn't too hard, but requires 'Full Privilege' insurance coverages(not something insurance specific, but is Manufacturer Coverages). Meaning... Higher cargo coverage, on-lot coverage for loading, etc. They seem to meet the percentage of 'Unionized' trucks on the mfg ramps, so us smaller guys don't get a second look(except when I'd roll in/out several times while they are still loading their first load). Often in the same lot as Jack Cooper Transport(Union Shop).
Contact me if you have questions on this.
URS also seems to have alot of Retail moves. It's really not known how they come up with some of these. they are known to have swallowed smaller brokers through mergers, etc. So it is assumed that they snatched up their customers as well as their leads and advertising.
Requires: Authority Copy, Copy of BOL & Cond Report, Insurance Cert Faxed direct.
Payment Options: Billing(Net-30), Fast Billing(7-10 days), Quick Pay(ACH Direct Deposit)
Notes: Full BOL(unless URS Provided) + Condition Report (signed both ends of transport), Full VIN.
