View Full Version : Neutral & Negatives on Central
I have never permanently left a negative or neutral on Central yet. Only one dealer who switched an order from COD to Quick Pay that I did not notice & accepted the order. After three weeks of bs stories of his did I leave a negative & I removed it after the check was received a few days later.
However, moved two cars at the end of July for a broker & on the order it states "Payment issued within 30 days". The paperwork was faxed July 27th & here it is the Spetember 1st with no check. Called them this afternoon & the girl in accounting gave me the check number & told me that they will mail it out Tuesday after Labor Day, which is the 7th. Evidently the mail in NE. only flippin works once a week?
So approximately 40 days plus whatever time the USPS takes to get here. It is not so much the dollar amount but the principle of manipulating the system!
Do you leave a negative for Late Payment to make a point or just shut up & move on?

On your first example, I wouldve left a negative. Thats the only way that other transporters will know if the broker is being reputable. The few that ive left have all been deserved, and others need to know how they operate.

If they screw with me enough for me to leave them a negative I won't ever take it off. There's some occassions were I think they deserve to get a nuetral or negative but I don't leave them. Example, recently a carrier fom SC was suppose to pick a car up from VA and take it to jax for us. They call on a Wednesday to pick it up Thursday and they don't pick it up. Their excuse is they got held up at jax port. Ok no big deal stuff happens. Friday comes and they don't pick it up because of a flat tire. Didn't really believe that one. Pick up Customer tells us that not the carrier. Call 2 different numbers and no answer so leave voice mail, they never call me back. Saturday comes and they pick it up. Know that because of Pick up customer not carrier. We had on the dispatch sheet to pick it up exactly on Thursday and they could of dropped it off any time before Monday and we wouldn't of cared. The guy only had a 2 car carrier. I have no idea how he makes any money like that. I felt like giving him a negative or a nuetral but didn't. They had good feedback exept for 2 old negatives for non payment. They may have been telling the truth about the delays but after the first one they never called us again to let us know what was going on. The customer was a crazy one and it sucks that you tell him one thing and that doesn't happen and then you don't know what's going on to tell him.
On your first example, I wouldve left a negative. Thats the only way that other transporters will know if the broker is being reputable. The few that ive left have all been deserved, and others need to know how they operate.
I thought about that, but was more embarrassed at my own stupidity for accepting a Q.P. order from dealer. This dealer even had me deliver it offsite to a friends business because he had to leave for family. Kind of knew what I was in for... What I figured out was that this guy was financing the transport in the sale of the vehicle & am lucky to have been paid at all in the end.
No worries about other carriers though, this dealer is now out of business. :D
Dorsey, I had a carrier cancel on me from S.C. too back in June with a perfect rating. Left my customer hanging & promised he would call when his truck was fixed, never heard from him again nor would he pick up the phone. Not sure what the deal was.
The brokerage I mentioned in the first post is just irritating. They have been in business a long time & have a 99% rating, but are just manipulating the system by issuing a check, but not mailing it for additional days. I did notice someone left a negative on them for late payment back in June for probably the same stuff.

They are in my backyard, would like to know who they are.
Teeter Transport http://www.omahatransport.com/index.html
Have never spoken with the owner, but seems like they have several things going on.

I have talked with Lou many times. She is the owner's right hand man. She calls me periodically wanting me to move cars from the railyard. They usually have 60-100 at a time. Told her I'm in the process of getting another truck and she still calls. They are a transporter also, so it irritates me when they post low rates when they know what it costs to operate. Some of their rates are ok. Thanks Brad.

I would cut them some slack this time, if it is mailed when they say it will be. If not then the rating depends on how many more calls you need to make and if they start lying or don't take the call.
I hate 30+ day payers, but sometimes it is their Customer that is dragging the payments out. I have had some willing to budge off the 30+ day thing, before I accept the load.
LTL's though are tougher to get that out of them. Many 30+ payers with LTL's.
I like it better when they pay in advance.

We did a car for Teeter this past March. It was a net 15 day. I invoiced them on 3/15/10 and was told the check was mailed on 3/29/10. We recv'd the check on 4/1/10 right on time.

Teeter is the only company that has actually stiffed me so far. (I have one that I am wondering about right now) I moved a Sebring from Manheim Dallas-Fort Worth to Omaha over a year ago. I called several times trying to collect and they kept giving me different stories. Finally they claimed that 3 days after I delivered the car the customer sent them an email (supposedly with a picture) saying that one door was curled. I know for a fact that it wasn't damaged and they never sent me a picture. I have a signed bol stating that the car was received in good condition. They said they would be in contact about it, but I never heard from them again. I maybe was stupid, I didn't know if they could somehow manage to file a claim on my insurance and knew if they did it would increase my premiums. I wont touch anything for them.

File on their bond. If they signed the BOL then your good on the bs story for the door.

I've only left 2 negs. Countrywide and Express Auto Trans out of Cinci.
Both paid, they were just well beyond the contracted time and took WAY excessive calls to both to get paid. Actually filed on CW's bond. Got a check maybe 10 days later. Got a letter about 30 days on from the bond company that basically they were such deadbeats that their bond fund was exhausted and I was screwed. Thankfully, I had already gotten paid, just failed to withdraw the claim.
Both have since left Central.
I'm generally don't leave negative unless it is pretty blatant. Instead, I keep notes about companies that are slow payers. If they have a car I want I try to negotiate COD with them... "Last time I worked for you it took 64 days to get paid on a net 30. I can pick up the car and exceed your delivery expectations, but it needs to be COD" If they won't do that, I simply pass. I rarely have trouble filling my trailer any more, so why take anything from a known slow payer??
Oh, yeah, I did leave a neg for Autoshowcase in Chicago because they claimed they put too much info in their central listing. I had a hole KC>CHI and they had a little Subaru. I called and booked it around 1PM and said I would pick up late eve and deliver the next day. I got there and the car was gone. It was 7PM and too late to fill the hole. I had commitments IN Chicago the next day, no choice but to roll without.
They claimed someone just took it and they claimed they didn't even know who. I suppose its POSSIBLE... Belton, MO and the last 6 were in the listing and if its in Belton its at ADESA... Personally, I think they double dispatched it and the other guy got there first.
Well they left ME a neg in retaliation... Somehow its MY fault that someone else took the vehicle? Becuase they double dispatched or because they put too much in the listing? I thought it was BS. After a phone call or two, my wife agreed to remove ours if they would remove theirs first. Personally, I would have left ours, and contested theirs with CD. She felt that since CD is always "SO RESPONSIVE" about everything else it wasn't worth the risk that CD wouldn't take it off...

I guess I'm overly hard headed. I'll take a negative to leave a negatve if that's the way it ends up. Auto Relocation Plus out of Tustin, Ca left me a neg after I had left them one for incomplete payment. They called months later and said if we took our neg off or just left a nuetral that they would take theirs off. We told them the only way we were going to was if we got the rest of our money. Never heard from them again. Noticed that their ratings were coming up because people were taking theirs off. That's bs! Well their neg is off mine now because their ability to leave feedback has been taken away. Their rating now is 91.7 percent but around the time they called us it was in the 70's.

Crap, weve left like 10 negatives and thats being nice. CD is like uship, nobody cares about feedback untill you get to the low 60%s. 99% of brokers dont even check your feedback, they just dispatch it over. we gotton about 7 negatives, all of them wyped clean. Although we are currently fighting with a dealer out of statin island over a car that went to the port. We billed for $50 and he gave us a negative. He is a new dealer with only 8 ratings. MK MOTORS out of statin island, NY. We gave him a negative rating for shipment different then expected. Never told us it went to the port. But we ratallieated and gave him a negative. lol, CD wont respond back to us. Looks like we might have our first negative for payment issue when it wasnt COD. FEEDBACK SYSTEM IS CORRUPT, thinking CD is getting sick of carriers/brokers taking adavantage of the system and maybe they will start doing the same thing as uship, meaning CD is a neutral venue and we dont care about your problems, deal with them yourselfs.

Well I said I had one I was wondering about. The check actually came today, so as long as it doesn't bounce the other company has now paid me. 52 days on a 30 day pay so not as bad as some. The biggest concern has been that they have gotten several negatives on CD in the past few weeks for non payment.

The problem is that every time you give someone a negative on CD and it's justified, the party you gave the negative to retaliates with one for you. I'd say at least half the time we give someone a negative, the give us one back.
CD used to take 3 or 4 days to resolve the disputes. Now they're running over 10 days. They must be getting sick of dealing with this crap
Glad ya got paid there Sclyde.
As for Teeter, was just irritated, wanted to see what others would do & no not going to leave them anything. What lit the fire is their wording on the order stating "Payment will be issued within 30 days" & it is what they are hiding behind. At least act stupid or broke or something...but to print the check & play games with mailing dates should be beyond how an established broker operates.
Maybe instead of delivery date for cars I will put it will be in the area on sometime...sooner or later?

We have left about 6 negatives total. Everyone has had a retaliation net put on us. CD has removed every one for us. Most have been from non payment and vehicles not being there for transport.
Just for the record on these guys... The cars were picked up 7/23-delivered 7/24- Invoiced 7/27(Still have fax confirmation). The check was "issued" 8/12- postmarked 9/9 & cashed today 9/11.

Huh, I wonder if Verizon or my insurance company would accept that we have ISSUED the checks.
Another one on my Blacklist.
Am sure bill collectors have heard it all, but trying to explain the check has been issued & even offering the check number probably would not make it far with them.
Teeter did everything else a broker should do in terms of sending Vins with the order, verifying the cars were ready to go, proper addresses etc. I may give them another chance, but will spell out the terms very clearly before hand & would suggest anyone else does too.

Coop if you stay on CD's rear about the ones where they retaliated against you they have to fix it! That's not supposed to happen I've been able to get a couple removed. You just have to call and email CD for about 3-4 consecutive days then those neg's will drop off! Just had a couple in the last 2 weeks got removed.
Also along the same lines had long conversation with the new and only and soon to be leaving accounting lady at m2reeves on CD. Hope nobody is or will be hauling anything for them. They are in big trouble they are 2 months late on a 5 day quick pay with me and supposedly after the discussion I had today the checks finally in the mail! She bad mouthed the owner and everyone there feels the same towards that company and she said to me yes to me on the phone that paying drivers right now is not a priority!!!!!!

M2Reeves apparently bought out Express Auto Trans out of Cincinatti...
Apparently that cancer was contagious.
Good riddance to bad rubbish...
