Is that a 53' step? What's the deck height? What kind of stuff are you hauling to need a step deck?
Thanks for posting your rig up.

Hey Bayou
Have you noticed any differences with the single tires on your drive axle? I know you ain't had them long enough to know how long they last, I was more curious about handling and fuel mileage. Keep it loaded there. It's looking good.
Stay safe out there.

i love the super singles it will be awile before i know about the fuel but it rides better turns way sharper faster and now when you hit the brakes its like you just left out it cools them down faster some more pics

I'd be peronoid about a blow out. The thoughts crossed my mind to get the super singles when I replaced my drives but being peronoid and never seeing any single axles with super singles I didn't do it.

I have seen them blow out but all the ones i seen the tire tread just came off and had air in it the side wall is inch or so thick it really ant no diff than a car or anything else if it wasent safe thay could not sale them to me I would not run retreads on it just new
If one did blow out side wall and all dont think it would be bad i have had blow outs on the drives before one time one blew out before i got the truck stoped both were blown
I never drive faster than 70 its just not worth it every tiket i ever got cost me $1,000 or more to get out of it

I like that trailer too, deck height is nice, but the problem comes in the upper deck height. I'd have to turn down 50% of my loads because i couldnt make height. I wish more people would build the upper decks like Haul A Rounds, that are nice and low.

well i will say this if it was lower i would have to take off the slide straps it would get into my side skerts
my flatbed is low on the front makes it to were you cant turn sharp i dont think you would like it lower thats why i dont pull this trailer anymore

I can't believe that you have not sold this truck yet. I have been admiring it for a couple months now. I have my truck sold (maybe) so finally in a position to buy another one. Is this one still for sale or did you take it off the market? I hope it is cause I am seriously interested. Let me know ASAP.

I dont think it going to be bad im going to do mine in a few weeks im really busy now so dont have the time to do it but im geting all my stuff together
Hell if i know you were going to do that i would have traded you axles did you just take off the front axle?
Tosch88
10-11-2010, 12:27 AM
Took the front axle out and moved the rear forward. Then chopped 4' of the frame, had to lengthen the drive shaft & get a yoke that would fit a, 1710 pinion input shaft & work with a 1810 ujoint. Also had to move the 3rd link bar to the opposite side of the frame not to mention weld the air ride height control bracket on the rear diff. It was a lot more work then I had thought. Its done anyway. It took me about four days.

O well i gave $2,500 for my axles we cut the frame off at the back of the cab so i have way more frame than i need but (IT'S BETTER TO HAVE TO MUCH THAN NOT ENOUGH) and i got a air slide 5th wheel i can get some of my $$$ back and some one out there could use my rear its a 23k axle with 3.73 gears with about 60% brakes $1,000 someone can have it all
Im going to do mine in a few weeks mine will look factory this clip came of a 05 same truck as mine all im doing is useing all the stuff off the new frame going to cut my frame and joint the frame to mine hook up the drive shafts air lines and the wireing so will see how it goes
