Anyone know what the maximum flip out length allowed is. I know take 3 only has 4 foot extension which overhang 3 feet. I want to extend my flips more than that but don't want to be hassled.

Any one have a good handle on length alowed in all states re pullouts , overhang either end, car haul trl, step hauling vehichles only ,mixed frt. etc. If you can put this togeter you'd be a real hero/guru here. Any large brained car haulers?

Think this is the law your looking for :
To qualify as automobile and boat transporters, under 23 CFR 658.13 (e)(1)(i)-(ii) and (2), both conventional and stinger-steered vehicles must be capable of carrying cargo on the power unit; the cargo may overhang the vehicle by 0.91 m (3 feet) in the front and 1.22 m (4 feet) in the rear (Figures 4, 5, 6, and 7).http://ops.fhwa.dot.gov/freight/publications/size_regs_final_rpt/

Next question, Coop how long were those flips you extended on your wedge? And lastly what about the 4ft length in the rear do they need extra rear lights to make sure they can see you? I have a step deck so I think it wouldn't be a problem but I wonder if I need to add a extra set of lights lower to the ground.

They were 3/4. Then I had them extended to 6/6. Had to build dog legs to support that weight. After a few runs, turning became a dangerous issue on the front. So I had both cut down to 4 1/2/4 1/2. My take 3 is 51 feet also.
I would say dont extend them to far, the rears will bend shortley after. I would prolly say 4 1/2 f/r is max I would do as far as comfort goes. If you could design your flips to have more of a upward angle, that would give you extra room for the front, but rubbing issues on front bumper will happen. I got sick of flips real quiickly, i love the stacker and its possibilitys
