It looks like an older Infinity GN400. I have a newer one and have had good luck with it. There is some more posts on this forum about Infinity. Check them out.

I have one like it. It's not officially for sale but any thing I have is for sale for the right price. Especially today!

i havent been able to get ahold of the guy yet. they are calling it a hide-a-bed

Yeah, its a hide a bed brand trailer. They just werent real popular for some reason. They make some flat beds, 6-7 car haulers, etc.. Look close at this one, the fifth wheel plate is all bent up, looks like it could use some TLC.

yeah i was lookin at the 5th wheel part. i dont have a way to get it home as a 5th wheel i only have a gooseneck. im hoping that the plate is just slid inside a gooseneck tube? so is $3000 a fair price do ya think?

I know of one for sale in Georgia, he'd sell for around 2900. I personally spoke with him and he tried to sell it on Ebay but got not a bid. Hes in Warner Robbins Georgia, You could try craigslist. to see if it's still available.

this ones only a couple hours from me. i was origionally lookin for a wedge, but found this and got all excited. so the guy has responded to me and yes the 5th wheel plate is slid idside a gn tube. he guesses the weight to be about 9k (heavier than what i planned on of course) the thing looks sooo damn long, looks like i could get 5 on there

I spoke with a guy at a lot that had one, he had a lift on the front and was able to get 5 on from time to time, so he said. You do know that the trailer slides open and shut to go from like 35' to 49' in length. I would say at best it's a 4 car with flips front and rear since I have seen a few. Nice trailer, looked solid, Hide a bed is the name I think. Lastly it's 3 axle so you'll have to IRP plate it and the top slot is fairly high too so the front is wedge like in that aspect. It's better than a wedge because it sits so low, you'll be able to haul 2 large vehicles that command more money.

I hope your not planning on pulling that with a one ton, and getting 5 cars on it??? Thats suicide. I really dont see that trailer hauling 5 of anything, unless youve got a smart car contract!!

Dorsey

5's never going to happen unless your stacking them on top of each other. I'm sure you could get more than 5 smart cars on though.

How about 5 Aveo's....

Awful lot of trailer for a 1 ton. My Powerlift is 8500 lbs and its a challenge keeping it loaded legal.

Removing 800 lbs of bed right over the drives helped, but still, it tough to avoid overloading the rear axle and its really more trailer than a 1 ton wants... Im waiting on the right truck to swim by...

yeah its just hard to pass up. same cost as a wedge and you seem to get so much more. and yes im sure the additional 3k lbs would be pushin my limits just a tad

The two guys I have seen with them hauled them with f350's. And as a previous owner of an f450 i can tell you that you'd be way overloaded with a 1 ton. Maybe with a 4500 or 5500 series you could do it but still it would be heavy.

your setting yourself up to fail with that trailer and the truck you have. wait and keep looking.

This one is nice, although recently there has not been a lot of positive things being said about infinity trailers. You'd have to get Busters opinion on his trailer to find out more about them. Of course Haul-around are beautiful trailers and if I had money for a new trailer I would buy one from him.

She claims this trailer weights 6700lbs. Mine weights 8000lbs without the trailer track, hydraulic landing gear and tool box. This trailer will not haul ANY 4 cars! I haul 4 about 65-70% of the time. Not just any car will fit under that upper deck. I would NOT haul this with a 1 ton unless I limited myself to 3 cars and even then I would be picky. All of that being said, I like mine. Its been a good trailer with no problems. Ive added a few things to it that make it better though. Extra "D" rings, 3/8" thick skids under the rear frame etc. For the right price and the right truck to pull it, I'd consider this one.

well if yours weighs 8k, coop's weigh's 9k and the one i posted weighs 9k then i believe you are right. this shouldnt weigh 6700. i think i was trying to put the cart before the horse. i want to get a bigger truck and just thought it might be ok to get the bigger trailer first, but im scared. so i guess i will just continue to look for a wedge. they all seem to be 6k lbs or so and if i build flips i would be able to haul 4 of the "right" cars. it will just take me a little longer, but everyone will get home

I'm about to have a 53' Take3 for sale. I believe its an '03 (could be '02) 102" wide, Pierce winch w/ remote (needs a battery) but no trailer track. Decent enough tires to start out, probably would need 2 pretty soon, but you could get by for a couple of months.

Its old, its a little bruised and none 2 pretty, but its light (~7250 lbs) and I think I'll be able to price it cheap enough.

Only real issue is its in MO which might be a tough sell for you. I bought it to put my unemployed college room mate to work (though we're 20 years downstream from college lol). He ended up finding local work and is happy as a pig in poop so... I'll try to get some pics up...

twoduners if i were you I'd stay away from a wedge and go for the lower deck style trailers. It's going to give you more options down the road and definitely more options for the taller vehicles that pay like sprinter vans, high top vans, box trucks etc. Those things pay way more if you look. Also if you're new to the business sometimes a wedge can get your nerves working seeing the cars move around. Try not to look unless your making a turn or on uneven pavement checking your speed. I know that when I sold my wedge I was a happy man. Wish I had bought a lower trailer from the get go. Just my thoughts. I posted a infinity for people to look at on Ebay for 5000k that is something I would be looking at. I think it's the same as busters.

Of course if h2oskibumz take 3 is coming up soon I'd look at that too because of the quality and weight. Also take 3 don't seem to be too high in their wedge design.

If you are concerned with weight you can have any seller weigh the thing across a scale at a truck stop prior to purchase because there is about a 2500 pound difference among brands.

Mine was suppose to be 6850, turned out to be a little over 8000. Sun Country 53' wedge which is built in Phoenix with chain binders, tunnel box & trailer track are over 9000 pounds.

I think H20's Take 3 could be a good deal for you & worth the drive. Even if you have to throw some money at it over time, you are going to throw money at most any trailer you get & much cheaper to start.

The bed weighs that much? Anyone know how much the bed weighs on a Dodge 3500? If it weighs 700 - 800 lbs I need to get it off.

ccoop769

I would prolly say it weighs that much. Between the bumper and bed, thats prolly pretty accurate. Its a 3 person job to get the bed off a truck. 2 could do it, as I did, but I wasnt worried about scratching and scraping it everywhere to get it off.

And if you have a spray in liner like mine probably save another 100lbs.

08-07-2010, 05:17 PM
2 people aren't going to lift that much. Did you use jacks or anything to help?

ccoop769
08-07-2010, 05:49 PM
No, but we left most of the weight against the frame as we wedged it off. Remember 800 pounds split up over bumper, tailgate, then the bed.

h2oskibumz
08-07-2010, 06:03 PM
My truck lost 760 lbs. Bed, tailgate, bumper. That also is a NET loss. I added a few lbs of angle iron for a frame to put my fuel tank on, 2 fence posts and some plastic fenders... So the bed, bumper and gate were 780+ ob an '04 Chevy.

what brought $2800.00 and what expanded ? I built the haul around drop deck, didn't expand anywhere.

Quality is basically a Kaufman copy. Price seems pretty fair. But don't get why they used that adapter when all you have to do is change the insert??

Dorsey
09-17-2010, 07:46 AM
Put a Kaufman and a quality trailer side by side and look at them. Even though they basically look the same the quality trailer sure does look alot flimsyer. I wouldn't trust that adapter they have on there. I'd take it off and sell it and put the tube that I wanted in there.

no one puts trailers side by side and compares apples to apples anymore. all they want is cheap and need it fast. don't care what it's built out of just make it cheap. we're in the wal-mart generation.
