I was wondering if anyone knew an insurance company that serviced an area larger than 500 miles.

I am currently with progressive, and that is all they allow.

Now the problem... I am 22, going to be 23 on 9/5.

Do you guys know anyone that will insure a 22/23 yr old? I have been in business since February 2009. Let me know any info would be great.

I live in PA, and I am looking at getting a Freighliner FLD 120 with a 1 car headrack, and a 8 car Cottrel. Thanks Guys!

I used progressive what I found was the trucks insurance wasn't the problem it was cargo insurance that had the 500 mi range. Used progressive for truck and used Zurich for cargo.Ended up with unlimited miles.

Guess I forgot to read that part and compredend that correctly!!! If thats what it is, put company name in somebody else I guess?? That sucks, guess I just missed that quota mark when I started doing this.

Great, thanks SHS... now Zurich will accept me being under 25?

I don't think that is possible for me to put it in someone else's name though coop. Plus you need to hire an attorney for that right? Thats what I heard atleast.

Thanks for the input though. I will try Zurich tomorrow.

If you know anybody that you can trust and vice versa, dont know why you would need a attorney. Google some insurance agents around your state. If a few agents tell you the same thing, im sure it would be same mostely everywhere else. Enjoy your new venture

I still use progressive my guy told me i can go outside of my 500 mile range once a month if you go outside of that and have a problem thay will audit your IFTA reports to find out
I use progressive cause thay are $3,500 a year cheaper than anyone else last year i had about 15 diff insurance companys try to beat it with no luck next year ill try it again
I talk to them the other day by going to a dual axle semi my insurance would go up $4,200 a year YA!!! cant wait:rolleyes:back to paying $10,000 a year:mad:

So, does that mean one day, or I leave on the 3rd and return on the 27th... and that is one time? Haha... a lot of "read in between the lines there."

I know it is because of my age, but I am a little over 15 with my 3 car, and with a semi it will go down to 12,000 with a 10,000 paid in full discount. That is only one truck too.

I pay $5,500 with 150k cargo with a pay in full discount and thats with my S/A a dual axle is what would be 4,200 more a year
when i went from my dodge to my S/A it was about $2,000 more a year but money well spent
I just dont Know how a semi in your case would be cheaper:confused:

When I got my semi my insurance went down.

The reason why it went down because the rep said there are more accidents in the pickup/trailer combos then semi's. That and semi's are "made to handle the load better."

Looking at all the posts it seemed like most paid 10k for their insurance... Am I wrong?

At 2 years you insurance is supposed to drop big time. Progressive was saying 20-33%. How does 6000-7200 a year sound Coop. Sounds like you can buy steak at the truck stop next year... lol

I am working on getting my CDL right now... I know, 3 cars is over, but been through a few weight stations and never had a problem, but got a cop one day with the DOT van and got a huge ticket. So, now I am trying to get my CDL to pay off my debt. My stupid/greedy ass decided to take a 30 mile load for 300 bucks... Well 300 bucks did not cover my ticket... Haha so I guess I lost on that one.

My initial quote was for 4500 from progressive well needless to say, they screwed up and it kept going up from there. It is amazing how some people do not know the product they are selling. Not sure what the problem is but

Im at $7500 per year with 1 million liability, 150k cargo, $400 per week rental truck, uninsured motorist, and comprehensive (to fix my truck in case of a fender bender) $1000 deductible.
