So I booked a 4 car load from FL to TN. Driver gets to Manheim to pick up and can't find one of the cars. We talked to the buyer and he said he informed the broker YESTERSDAY that one of the vehicles did not pass inspection. So I noticed the same broker had 2 more vehicles right down the road going to the same drop for $650. I called him to see if we could just grab one of them and he said ok. Then the dispatch sheet comes over to collect $350 and $300 ttt. I may not be a wiz at math but according to my calculator 1/2 of $650 would be $325???? So I called the broker back and he said it was because we were just taking one. Thought single units paid more than multiples but what do I know. I just wanted 1/2 of what it was posted for. Then he told me that he knew earlier that the vehicle was not ready. Then I got upset. His excuse for not calling me was that he was not in the office. Obviously he was available to get the call but not available to call me:confused::confused:So instead I have a driver wondering around an auction for hours wasting time. Needless to say I upset him and he told me to collect the f-ing $350 and never call him again. The perfect end to a perfect week:D

Typical broker mentality. Book car-collect money-dispatch truck-end of story. The rest is the carriers responsibility to take care of their customer. I don't know why car dealers hire carriers/brokers to move cars that aren't ready in the first place though.

I like the point. Its a single so it doesnt pay as much. But as usual, if someone wants you to take two cars, it pays less because there are more.

When do they start paying more?

I also like the fact that when this broker post the load on central or even when I talked to them they forget to mention their cut we are to collect. He was supposed to get $200 for a 4 car load. $50 a car is fair but why hide it. Worried the carrier will ask for more money??? I booked a car for Dorsey that we ended up cancelling because of this shit. I asked for more money and they told me they didn't have anymore money in it. When we got the dispatch sheet they were getting something like $400 or $500!! Do you remember what it was Dorsey??? Not to mention they had a whole list of stipulations if you were late they would deduct money and stuff like that. Wish I could remember who that broker was.

That car wasn't for me. I remember you telling me about it though.

Just browsing thru the forum since im bored for a few good laughs. Came upon this. We dispatched for mcmurry for a few months, years ago and left us with no payment for dispatch. High and Dry so to speak.

Amazingly, (he is christian), he always said he planned on paying us. about 2 years has passed, maybe 2 and months ago we recieved a check for $2000.

We havent spoken or emailed in about 2 years and out of nowhere we recieve this check. No card with it or anything.

Isnt that amazing...... God bless people like that. Yah he should of payed us on time every week like any employer should do and yah we should of stopped dispatching after no money was coming in for it. But what the hell right.??????

Its just amazing to me somebody would send out a $2000 check 2 years later...

maybe road runner/kimberly auto mart might do the same?????? Drove by there lot a few weeks ago, wonder if they saw my truck??? There lot had like 200 nice cars on it for sale. When I got ripped off, they had like 15 crappy cars.

Wow, that's amazing! Nice surprise. It would be nice if a couple of folks who bounced checks to me over the years would surprise me with new (and good) checks!
