no the recall is for years 03-09 i believe, this is a 99, after doing a google search im thinking its the trac bar, lots of complaints about it on the diesel forum

Yah, there is plenty of causes for the death wobble. Thats prolly the biggest question out there in the deisel forums. Every truck is different and so hard to pinpoint. My guess would be make it a whole day out of it and replace tie rods, ball joints, trac bar, steering stabilizer, make sure front tires are good, rims not bent, properly airred up, aligned. umm, probably the same stuff you already read. Good luck

I had a friend that had a 96 Dodge that if he hit a bump the wrong way the steering wheel would jerk and the front end would try to jump off the ground

They finally got it fixed but it took rebuilding the entire front end.

I have ran Dodges for almost 650,000 miles now and never experienced it. I've ran a 98, 99, 2006, and a 2007 (and a few 1st gens in the past).

The only time I have seen it was in the early 2nd gens. 94-96 usually and I had a 92, 93, 94, 95, 96, 97, 98, and a 2000. I know people still talk about it but if it's there it must not be near as bad as it was then.

I miss my first gens. Had a 92 3/4 4x4 5speed and a 93 2x4 ton 5 speed. Best Dodges I have ever owned. The 3/4 rode like hell, drove like hell, and wouldn't stop for anything but man it was a tough sob. :D

Its castor related. Crawl under and adjust the eccentrics one mark back. That will fix it.

Never have had it on dodges, but my lifted jeeps back in the day had a problem with it. I finally had to cut the axle tubes are reweld them to add in more castor.. Then it was fixed.

The guys on the forums who add in more castor have fixed there trucks too.

yeah im told its caster, and trac bar, i ordered the trac bar and when it gets isntalled, a wheel alignment should take care of the caster, truck has about a 2 inch lift so im sure the caster is off a bit.

If you lift a dodge at all youll need castor reset. Sounds like you are on the right track.
