Processing Agents

I got a letter on Sat. saying the company I used for my Authority when I started is out of business. This company is trying to get me to pay them to be my processing agent. They say that I am required under FMCSA regs to have an address in every state I'm reg. in and that I do not need an agent but that I can do this myself. Each address would be confirmed by FMCSA. They offer the service for a one time fee of $50. Are they just after my money or is this really necessary?

Update: I checked FMCSA and it said I had to file this when I got my Authority which I did. I called Rex Evilsizor and found out that it is required to be onfile and current. Evilsizor does it for $30 one time fee.

If you are an OOIDA member they will handle this for you for free....

I figure since I'm giving them $45 a year to be a member (and since they already handle our drug test program...) it made sense to let them manage this too...
