I still keep considering this one.

Caledonia, WI to Denver, CO

2005 gmc 7500 box
truck 16,000 lbs h
-11' 6" l- 31ft w
8; 2002 gmc c6500
box truck same specs
as 7500; (2) 2001
gmc c6500 both
14,000 lbs same
specs as 7500
[4 vehicles]
$7600
1,044 mi ($1.82/mi)

He also has them posted as singles for 1900 each. Keep thinkin about running the flatbed out there a few times. Maby e squeakin on a small car or short SUV on the front if theres space, which there should be. But just thinking about the weight... and obviously the snow and ice on the trip.

These have been posted a while now.

Don't forget those KS and NE winds...

My last trip to CO I had an ugly load (frontier, Pahtfinder, GMC 2500 Express all loaded bass ackwards to reduce the amount of pin weight..) I knew I was heavy, I knew I was only slightly more aerodynamic than a big brick, so I expected that my normal fuel mileage would take the hit...

45mph W-NW winds and I got 1/2 what I usually get between Salina, KS and the CO line... and it was all I wanted to do to try and run 55mph vs to 70 mph limit. After I got into CO, the wind dropped off and I got back up closer to normal, but it KILLED a large chunk of my take home...

Yeah the mileage can take a huge hit on these loads. But I find if I (piss off the guys behind me) keep my speeds down around 58mph on the heavy walls I tow, the mileage isn't as bad. Wind drag really hurts up in the 60+ speeds.

While you were typing that I went back and edited my post to say... that WAS at 55 MPH. I would have blown up my truck trying to hold more than aobut 60 in that wind!

lol yeah, been there... didnt blow up the truck, but trying to hold a speed can be a bad thing :D

What is the deal on all these big trucks going to Denver? There's loads like that coming out of everywhere. Is Denver in a shortage of box trucks?? I just booked both of my trucks for the next 10 days running box trucks to Denver and dead heading back. (paid both ways) Hope to see you on the road Tony!!
