My trailer is new so I obviously have not removed the hubs before. My question is, does the inner bearing get grease when you grease the axle by removing the rubber end cap and applying? How often and how much grease to put in? I just went on a 1,000 mile trip so I just pumped gun 3 times at each fitting. I'm afraid I will blow the rear seal out or is that possible on theses axles? I think I heard somewhere before that the grease will just come back towards you. My dexter manual doesn't say anything about this, just to replace grease every 12k.
How often should I grease the equalizers and how much?

Ez lube axles do well getting grease to the inner bearing but not that well to the outer. Just like bearing buddies do well on the outer but not the inner. The guys at the Dexter supply house recommended just doing it the old fashioned way and repack then 2-3 times a year based on the miles we run.

Ok, I will get some seals to have on hand for when I repack them. Do these axles come with the double or single lip seal?

I would get a whole bag of parts.
Bearings, races, seals, nuts, lock thingies (yellow), caps, grease. Order them online or if your local store sells them for cheap. Online is always cheaper from what Ive seen. On your seal question, i cant help you, im obliviuos to those types of questions, I though a seal was a seal. Just make sure you say 7k axle.
As for greasing them, i just use the nipple. i dont understand what Haulin is saying about the inner and outer?? Grease starts from the rear and works its way to u hitting everything and pushing out old grease. Only time i do a hand repack is when im changing brake assemblies. ahh, the joys of maintaince.
As for greasing them when, just touch your hubs here and there, if 1 is hotter then normal, it needs new grease.
Example, did a quick run to ky over the weekend, did an inspection enroute, noticed 1 mniddle hub is hot, so i greased her up with about 15 shots of grease or until it spewed out, threw on the cap, and down the road I went, checked her next stop, and she was cold like all the others. That will teach her when to get hot with me, lol!!! Wish other things worked like that, huh!!!

With new axles and bearings you will probably need to adjust the bearings after about 1k-2k miles. They will loosen up a bit when new.

They make two different seals for the 7k. They have the same diameter but one is thicker than the other. You won't know unless you tear it a part or call take 3 and ask them what thickness seal they use. If its the thinner one let me know as I have 6 sitting hear & would be glad to mail you a couple no charge as I have no use for them.
