So we call a broker on a load, its quick pay which is considered 2 days by centraldispatch. We get the load, first thing we noticed the broker did wrong with BAD BIZ was he changed the terms to 5 day. That right there can result in a bad rating if i were to print the load off the board and didnt match contract. But hey, we are nice, didnt say anything and just continued the day as normal.

So we do the job, fax in the BOL, and 2-3 days later the broker calls us saying that the check is written out for us and signed ready to go in the mail but......................... Theres no signature on the BOL. We look and we are like omg, its signed in plain view, can read it from 10 feet away, and its not a doctor sig, it normal english written. So after the broker says he cant get ahold of the customer to verify, we tell him we will. He says dont worry but we say you dont worry, we wanna help you pay us on time, so he gets rude and lah blah blah and hangs up. I mean, im not worried about getting paid, and the guy did point this out, but just these conversations should be avoided especially when there are plenty bad brokers out there who do this for a living.

So we call the customer and he awnsers on first ring. He first said we all delivered it quick and the driver was nicest in the world. We tell him that we need an actual cursive signatur. He said he signed it already. So now we get more indepth saying we need a curisve signature so we get paid on time. So we fax it too him, and he faxes it back, but not to us, but from the truck stop in NY that our driver used to fax to us, that number that was on the sheet from the fax machine. duh, so we talk to him this morning and im hearing him thru my wifes phone get louder and louder and hangs up on my wife saying hes not faxxing it again. our fax is clearly shown on our bol. Me and my wife are dumbfounded how we can get yelled at for something as easy and stupid as this. So this is were we stand, still no paycheck, 2 hang ups, 1 from broker, 1 from customer, but we did something wrong??? I know in this case my wife maybe 1 to look at but i am sitting next to her with both these conversations and she did not lose her cool either time. Oh, and now our fax is coming thru from the customer, signed again, but now in cursive also. Guess the guy wants us to get paid on time, but enough heartache in him to yell at us for a minute over his own stupidity??? Just to refax it again???

So, back to the broker again, this broker stated he has been getting screwed alot on vehicles not getting delivered with fake signed BOLS. He tells us that, I woulda said its not my problem your getting screwed, now is it??? But thats cool, he wants to verify, but why call us and tell us that???? He should of not just said anything, and sent out the damn check on the 5th day if he actually wanted to verify with the customer. I mean so what, he is using our money as american express or hes getting late paid. I dont care, just pay us on or before the 5th day as our contracted stated. Neither one of us want this drama that came from that 1 uneeded phone call the broker gave us....

Best part about this deal is we used this broker before in the past 1 or 2 times. And we have 100% on CD with almost 200 ratings as a carrier, which you rarely see on CD is any carrier with that many ratings let alone 100%. minus 1 netreul but hey, thats another bitch story I already told.

So anywho, 1 more thing if forgot to mention that was interesting about this story is the brokers reference spots, his #1 spot is a LONG TIME (FORUM'S) MEMBER WE HAVE

Im not saying its the reference spot fault, im just pointing out that if I was treated this way, does alot of people get treated this way? And if my company name was in that spot and he treated people like that, i would want my company name removed from that reference spot. But hey, thats just me, and figure I would tell you the reference a story of mine

I could be wrong but sounds like the broker is having money flow problems, nobody wants to pay for a job done these days they want to pay 30-45-60-90 days later. I blame the big companies for starting this, with just in time shipping then wanting the suppliers to stock their shelves and wait for payment till after it's used. I worked for a fortune 100-500 company for 30 years I saw this stuff start to happen back in the 80's first they wanted it shipped the day they needed it that didn't work because you never knew when a truck would be routed to our location then they wanted the suppler to stock the item in house at our location, guess what happened next we would open and use it and not the tell the supplier, then the supplier would send one of their people up to do inventory and find out we are using it not paying for it and the shit would hit the fan.Same thing is happening with trucking only maybe worse you got brokers brokering other brokers loads and no one wants to pay the lowly trucker who is the only one really spending money to get to get the job done his exspenses are done by the day and 30 days not 45-60-90 days out. If the government wants to do something about trucking, then do something about truck drivers getting paid when the job is done not being paid when the shipper, broker feels like it works better for them. Done with rant. Sorry just pisses me off
