To you guys who have experience with the dodges.
I have 2 07 dodges with autos, 373s with 6.7, 410 with 5.9.
Heres what I notice.
Boost
5.9 Can hold 27-29psi all day long
6.7 Can hold 17-19psi all day long
Rail Pressure
5.9 19-22k all day long
6.7 26-27k all day long
Power
5.9 gets the job done
6.7 makes it look easy
Basically, both trucks basically stock. Does the 6.7 have that much more power?? Your thoughts!!!!!! I am wondering if the 5.9 has power lacking somewhere?? 1 injector isnt running optimal, but still runs, doesnt throw codes, nor makes it run rough, or makes you think anything otherwise other then star scan saying so.
Just doing some research, thats all.

What I felt with a 5.9 auto is the loss of rpm's between shifts when towing heavy hurts. HP and Torq are the same on both in 07, aren't they?
Only depends on the trans. Auto trans should have been rated higher(350hp) while the manual was 305hp.
But I didn't think your truck was stock coop... fuel system upgrades, etc?

Well, I wouldnt call a 4" TBE and a CAI modifications that you can feel by the seat of your pants let alone a dyno. Fuel system only consists of aux filters, not even a fass!! If anything, I would of thought a 2/5 micron aux filters would of slowed me down on fuel pressure.
I know the 6.7 is rated at 350/650. I always thought the 5.9 had maybe 40 hp less, i could be wrong. But even still, it shouldnt be night and day difference.
Any of you guys with gauges can tell me if my rail pressure is accurate?? As for tranny haulin, I wouldnt know. This truck had its tranny rebuilt with some heavier duty insides at around 120,000 miles, so it does shift I guess quicker.
The 5.9 downshifts alot better then the 6.7 because I guess it has better insides?? The TC doesnt slip anymore then a second compared to the 6.7 as if I downshift, it will stay redlined for a good few seconds till the TC locks. But then again, my 6.7 has a broke down tranyy now. So the fun will really begin when I throw the suncoast in later this month.
Still, I guess I just had higher expectations for a 5.9!!! I get the truck for month, 1 of those try before you buy type deals. Along with a kaufman pro loader. Haulin, you know what truck and trailer im talking about, same guy who used to lease onto me a long time ago, I posted up the pics in the yard!! Silver truck.
You should have higher expectations... CAI and turbo back and that thing will eat you alive. all the 5.9 needs honestly is beater breathing and it can put out more. toss a proggy on there and let her rip, she can take it ;)

The 6.7 no longer has a dpf right. Is the egr disabled too?
The 6.7 trucks Ive ridden around in that have all the emissions deleted are hosses.

99% MIA, grid heater is still there though. I couldnt take that off!! Before It was a dog especially while regening, sometimes I felt like it lost total power for 20 seconds. Talk about dangerous!!!

I bought a 5.9 brand new in 06' and it pulled like a champ. 100k in the first year with zero problems. Only went to the dealer for the occasional oil change. Not so much as a burnt out light even went wrong. Loved the truck. Just before I traded it, I notice the trans started slipping litteraly days before it left. I think she knew i was getting rid of her and she was trying to tell me something!! Id buy another. It was a workhorse.
My '06 (new) had several fuel system problems, leaks at the transfer pump.
Pulled great but was not the hoss my pre-2000 models were, yet great.
around 15,000 mi started rough idle that never would quit.
My '08 (new) had O2 sensor problems within 700 mi and by 5000 mi
they had the new software to re-program ECM.
50,000 miles later, absolutely zero problems [other than the cheap s#&t
batteries] and it definitely outperforms my '06.
Both trucks 100% stock.

Yah, thinking maybe a cheap 4 or 5" TBE and a homemade CAI, can get both for maybe $300 if im lucky, even a boost fooler and a 30hp tune, it might run up to par with my truck.

Or you could just get a muffler eliminator from Geno's, since it's already 4".

I owned 2 07's, one with a 5.9 (had afe & straight pipe) & other with 6.7 (C&C bone stock) both 4:10's & g56's. The 6.7 will flat out pull the 5.9 in stock form period. A lot of my loads at the time weighed about the same & most of the time pulled the same route at the same time. I put a edge on the 5.9 & with it in tow setting would pull like the 6.7. My 6.7 would get about .5 mpg better every ifta quarter also. Had an 06 5.9 with an auto also, great truck but was a lot worse than my 5.9 with stick when pulling heavy. Did fine with anything under 10k though.
