Does anybody here play computer games??? Ive been a gamer since nintendo, moved to pc gaming since PS1 and never touched a console game since.

Anyways, im looking for some more players for online games, specifically strategy games like Command & Conquer, World in Conflict, EndWar, even a round of Tiger Woods Golf. Ive gotten out of Battlefield 2 only because Ive got like 500 hours logged on. The new BattleFIeld coming out this year looks mighty interesting with DirectX 11. Guess im gonna have to upgrade my GPU since I only have a Nvidia 260GTX.

Anyways, my specs are

Intel Quad Core 2.33 (overclocked to 3.5) AirCooled Max Temp 71C LINX TEST ($140 CPU) hehe
EVGA 790 ULTRA SLI MOBO (yes, its TRI GPU CAPABLE)
4 Gigs Patirot Memory @ 2000 1T LL DDR3
Nvida 260 GTX overclocked to 645/1150 DDR3 896 MB
Dell 24 UltraSharp Widescreen

Rock Solid Stable on multiple Tests like prime, occo, linx.

On this quad Core Setup with memory, I still have room to overclock but my temps start to sky rocket with voltage increases. Can still divide memory for an overclock to 4.0 if I had watercooled setup. But is it worth it???? Anyways,

Asus sk8n deluxe (premo board back in the day 939 socket)
Nvidia 7800 GTX SLI x2 256mb
2 Gigs Memory 1T LL DDR1

FutreMark 3dmark06

Did not understand 75% of what you said above.:D

To put it in simpler terms............

I used to LOVE video games years (25+) ago. Rolled Donkey Kong over more than once with my old "original" Nintendo cartridge console game.

I have also hit 1 Million on "Galaga" more times than I can remember. Even today, at age 44, if I see a Galaga game in a store or somewhere, the rest of my day is usually shot. For some reason every time I run into one, this little voice in the machine says FEED ME quarters, so I do.

I have a PS1 sitting here hooked up to my TV in my office and I have just 1 game for it. A golf game. Played it so much that my average is 20 under par on an 18 hole course. (Eagles are getting easier, I've learned you can hit 320 yards "over trees" from tee off on 3-4 of the holes! :p)

Just spent X-Mas at my brothers. He went and bought a WII for his media room. (72" Plasma TV) Spent hours and hours playing Golf, Baseball, and Bowling. Fun Game!! Hate to say this, but I was sore for a couple of days after I got home. I had never played anything like it. I am probably going to get a WII myself here pretty soon.

That's my extent on video games. I have seen my teen nephew play the stuff you were speaking of. I don't think I could ever get it down, and don't really want to try either.:o

Computer wise I have a Dell Latitude 6400 and my wife has my old Compaq laptop. Nothing fancy just to work on and surf.

Now as far as video games my fun started WAY back when my cousins got a Pong game. Then I got an Atari, then upgraded to Intellivision, then Coleco. Then came the "computer" Commodore 64 and a 128. Eventually ended up with a PC that ran at 8 mhz. Now came several years of really just having a basic computer collecting dust on a desk.

Re-entering video games started with buying the Original Play Station used, since then we have had (still have most) a Game Cube, Xbox, Wii, and just before Christmas I bought an Xbox 360. We play on a 42" Plasma. I'm more of a racing game player, the war games to be honest are just beyond the speed and coordination my fingers have. I do try an occasional game of NBA against my 11 year old but again his fingers just move much faster than me. Now the Wii is a hole different world, who would have ever though how worn out and tired you could get from a video game. Its a blast to play with the kids.

Exactly my thought!!

Sure, I had seen WII advertised on TV, saw it on the news, so on, and have seen the people jumping all over the place playing that game setup. Since I don't have kids, only see my nieces and nephews here and there, I am just never around the games (video & PC) that are out now.

That WII was awesome!! Interactive like it says, and these 44 year old bones paid the price for a couple of days after X-Mas!!:D

I love all games, racing, shooting, 3rd, ive played them all.

Dirt 2 was pretty amazing!!!

All time favorite car is still NFS Most Wanted.

Best Realistic car sim Grid Race Driver, cant wait for 2 to come out.

Best graphical game Crysis, cant wait for 2 to come.

Best Shooter, COD 6 Modern Warefare 2, but small game.

First PC games I played Doom and Wolf 3d and sim city 2000. And grew from there.

I hate WoW and SIMs. Only online MODERN WAR GAMES, yes, but they are fun. My kids are young, But by the time NATAL is made for PC, that will be my new thing for me. Wii is still to young for my kids, but looks very enjoyable for family, just never played.

I remember Atari, i had a couple versions. Wow, some you guys really old school!!! PONG, AWESOME, I love that game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got me on that. First Larry I played was the second to last 1 i think, cum de laude or something. I got the newest 1 also, just havent played it much.

I remember MLI for wolf3d, and idkfa and a few others for doom, lol, thats to funny there.

I really got into it with mechwarrior and origianal command and conquer back when Pentium 400-800htz cpus were out. My first real computer was a P4 2.6, lol. Other thena old skool IBM that just ran DOS. lol.

I remember a little bit of Joist and Commado and a crap load of tetris and super mario bros. lol, Guess im still kinda young! hehe

Eh tough one... so many games...

Anyway, my regular ones I fall back to...

Counter-Strike 1.6 (hardly play source) have been playing since beta release and still play to this day. I also own a gameserver rental company and its by far the most popular game.
Left4Dead (not L4D2)
Played EQ, EQ2, and WoW... but never stuck to it.
Eve Online, yep i still play just not that often anymore.

But I haven't really had the time to play lately between all of my projects, etc.

Yah, everybody likes CS, that likes the most popular game out for online, dont understand why, considering how old it is. .i just could never really get into it. The HL sagas are really cool though and graphics are awesome and the game itself doesnt require a super computer like crysis. Im still waiting for episode 3 to come out.

I'm a game geek. drop me a line if you up for a game.

1994 Indy 500 was my 1st game. Bought EVERY Nascar game that Seirra/Papyrus made, 2003 EA Sports bought all rights to the Nascar games and totally destroyed Nascar for the pc. GTR2, Viper Racing, Nascar Heat and Need for Speed series. Beta tester for iRacing, but really didn't like how the servers worked.

I have played all the Battlefields except 2142, Most of the Call of Duty's, Metal of Honor, F.E.A.R., Quake and Doom series. Rainbow Six series including LasVegas2. Ghost Recon 1 & 2. Wolveinstein and Cobat Arms (hackers galore).

Currently play Call of Duty 4 Modern Warefare, they have made alot of good Mods that have kept this game alive and one of the best out there. If i had a better pc I would have Call of Duty (COD) 6 Modern Warefare 2, but they don't have deticated servers. Most of the guys I play with have avoided it. Newest Mod is Star Wars, they did a great job on the StormToopers and Tatoonie. Sounds are great.

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 (GRAW2)is a very nice game.

Old thread, but figure I would bring it up. Just got another nvidia 260 gtx off ebay for $100 shipped. Helluva deal I think considering I run at high resolutions.

Now I can play COD modern warfare 2 at 24" resolution, everything maxed out ingame in settings like vsync, 4x AA. And I can go into Nvidia control panel and do a few extra tweaks and still hover all day long at 60 FPS. and it wont budge under 50 during hardcore scense. My cpu is only at 50% max.

I can play crysis pretty good with the ccc 2.1 mod level 5 with TOD turned on and play comfortable.

I can acutally run Metro 2033 maxed out in game direct x 10 and move around, lol, but not enjoyable enough to play yet. Gonna have to wait for that game.

And bf bc2 i can play maxed out with the big setting turned on, while maintained 60 in a lot of areas, but still dropps to 40 in snowy parts or stuff. Game is very playable though and very graphical.

Benchmarks 3dvantage 06 in windows 7 64 ultimate not really getting tweaked with no or minor gpu oc's I think i went up to around 19k or so, that was a huge jump.

Anywho, I swear im playing all my old games again, cant wait for grid2 to come out.

Ehhh, time for this to make it to the end of the line again. Im just excited that I can acutally play games maxxed out for the most part again on a 24.

My gpus are definately bottlenecking the system though. But its nice to see that my temps have dropped considerablely since the cards are not working as hard.

My system is only 99% stable now though because of SLI, which was expected, just gonna have to tweak my memory some. So i downclocked to 3.32.

Im sure most of you dont konw what any of this means, but to the electronic nerds in here, its pretty exciting... Well to me at least since its my computer.

Anywho......

BFBC2....

No multiplayer unless private;) Last game that I did for mulitplayer was bf2. I have over 700 hours in that game. Scared to get bf3. Im pure single player now so the crack addiction doesnt last to long.

I dont mind multiplayer the strategy 1x1 or 2x2 like C&C and stuff, but the shooters are addictingly long games and wakes the kids up. I cant even hook up my 7.1 system:(

Im not too bad though, i would hope not after 700 hours. I got a little playing in this year, but most of that was from first 3 years.

http://bf2s.com/player/61392489/

I do hop on once in awhile though.

Look at me, been slow for a week, and now I am doing one of those recovering post whore type deals

heh, BFBC2... haven't played much lately(obvious reasons), but my clanmates are playing every night. I also play maxed out fullscreen, but sometimes drop back a bit and play windowed when i need to keep an eye on other things.

Just finished up the new medal of honor. I must say ive always like the COD and MOH series. Ive played all 14 of them or so, over the years. And ive always like COD for the best war shooters.

Now this new medal of honor. I will give it top ranks. The storyline is really addicting and makes you want more. It shows true heart. Its a bummer at the end for all that they went thru. Also the graphics are amazing. I believe it uses the bfbc2 graphics engine but plays so much smoother and I think better graphics. Did lag small times noticed all 4 cpu cores were maxxed alot and gpus never topped 60% each. So its definately CPU intensive. Im clocked at 3.3 now.

Definatly the best war shooter I have played for story and graphics. Bet it makes a helluva mulitplayer.

Have to build a new desktop gaming rig. Currently using a 2 year old warmed over Dell laptop

Dell Inspiron 1520
Intel Core 2 duo T7500 2.2 Ghz
4Gb DDR2 Dual channel SDram 2x2Gb 667Mhz
Nvidia Geforce 8600M GT 256mb DDR2 Video card
160Gb SATA Hard drive 7200 rpm

Have been a big fan of MOH, COD for years and washooked on CFS for a while. COD modern warfare I pretty much only play team multiplayer. When I first bought it a couple years ago the modern warfare single player was a bit much and too real for me after playing the live version for nearly 2 years.

Other favorites are Hitman and Sniper Ghost Warrior.

The New Wii, but microsofts version!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g_txF7iETX0

Project Natal is coming out as Kinect (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/kinect) and can be pre-ordered now. It's supposed too launch in the US in a few weeks on November 4 2010. Just ordered one today at Gamestop on Ft Bragg. Hopefully have it before Christmas. My daughter was hillarious to watch bowling when I bought the Wii, can't wait to see her with this thing. It'll be worth the $200 just for the laughs.

Sonys version is move and is out now, can be bought at walmart. Pretty interesting commercials.

Anywho, Call of duty 7 black ops comes out nov 9, just a few more days. Cant wait to play it and compare it to the others. MOH didnt get that great of reviews and I really liked it, especially since its there first modern day game. Havent even been playing games lately, nothing is coming out fast enough, and i dont want to jump to multiplayer. So ive brought myself down to playing 007 bloodstone. Crap, i play everything and anything that comes out that is a shooter, gotta play something while waiting for the big games to come out.

Gotta post something for today, slow as heck

Played the PS3 Move at a friends house tonight. Got about 3 hours in it over a few different games. Got to shoot guns, that summer champions game and a few other couldnt remember. I must say i was impressed. I never liked wii because the graphics are nintendoish if you know what I mean. But with the same concept with ps3 graphics I was really impressed. Fun for adults or family. As much as I want it, I think im gonna wait for the pc version of kenect to come out. Ahhh, maybe, my 4 year old could play move now. And the younger 1's can play with ipet or stuff.

Anywho

Got kinect for the kids. Good fun there. Ever see a truck driver dance to dance central??? LOL

Anywho, im still a pc gamer, but kinect is definatly interesting. PC version of kinect comes out early next year since the 360 version isnt optimized for pc although it can be hacked to work.

So im actually in the middle of 5 games now which is rare. BF3, CODMW3, NFS THE RUN, SAINTS ROW THE 3RD, And the game that takes the cake and hogging up all my game time is Batman Arkam City. Non stop batman and NOTHING ELSE.

Funny how my big crack game bf3 and 20 hours into it and batman says screw you bf3 like its nothing........................

Plants vs. Zombies. Right about my IQ level. I just can't decide which team I want to play for...
