I'm new to the business and this is the first time i came across this. If the contract says 2 day quick-pay after reciving BOL and its been 5 days now and no phone call back, what do i do? do i give them more time? how much time? am i over-reacting too early?
Its a dealer through CD and they are in BC, Canada. Any advice for me? Thank you.

How do you deal with non payment? Do you end up getting your money?

Well the no call back is what would worry me. But if it's only been 5 days that's not really out of the norm. Quick pay being that they are suppose to process your payment within two days. I'd blow up there phone on The next business day and demand to know what is going on. If your not paid by the end of the week then give them a negative. Unfortunately since they are a dealer you have no to file against so you out of luck there. You may want to consider in the future being a bit more selective with who you give terms to, dealers in my book are cod only. There is no reason they can't have a check ready for you.

Depends what type of a quick pay. If they have to mail a check out, then you probably won't get your check for at least a week from Canada. No phone call could just be its a holiday weekend and the person dealing with it is out of the office. But if they decide not to pay you, your screwed. Wait till Tues. and do as Haulin said, call them every hour until they answer your questions. Anytime there is humans involved, errors can and will happen hopefully this is the case and not that you ran into a crook!

Remember too that Friday July 1st was Canada Day, their national holiday, and the Monday the 4th is our national holiday. That isn't helping you get a hold of them or getting paid if a check is coming snail mail.

If they still don't pay then take the biggest friend you've got up there with you. You pin him down and have your friend kick him in the nuts until you get tired. I have a friend named Randy. He's 6'6" and weights in around 375#'s. He's Comanche Indian and German. HE LIKES TO PLAY!!!!!!!! We were raise on a reservation together. I have no idea why we are still alive!! We did some stupid shit!

Lol @ buster. With a dealer don't bother leaving a message. Unless you talk to the used car manager don't expect to get paid. And yeah there's no reason for a dealer to not offer cod.

So there is absolutly nothing you can do legally if you transported for a dealer?

You can file in small claims court. You can send them to a collection agency. You can right a letter to the editor. Not much else (legally).

Bullshit u can't do more legally.

Find out info on owner. FAX bad things about the company and owner to all surrounding dealers. Do the same thing with the neighbors. And do it every week.

Me, I just got taken for 3 g,s from a carrier/dealer. They have no idea what's coming and will realize how much life sucks when I get done with them. I plan on showing up at their wedding with a pa and large signs on trailir. Gonna camp out in there area for a week. All Legal if carried out correctly.

Yep. Can't wait to ruin there lives on there most wonderful day....

I am going to be there best friend for sure...... fucking idiots these days...... people expect to rip people off and have no recourse because what they did was legal by government laws??? Fucking idiots....

Did they forget about how crazy truckers are??? U know they can't sleep good. Wondering if there house will get damaged. Car get flat tires. And damaged. Fat wife get raped... and for it to keep happening. Some people just don't think about recourse.

There is always recourse. Always....

If its not far out of your way then go collect it. I had to do this once. But it was only an hour from my house in Detroit. I got my money and a little payback. Coop is ready for a break I can tell, he's been so fired up lately:argue:

Unfortunate that we have to be part of a random drug test consortium... Coop sounds like he could use a little for medicinal purposes!

I did not say the money could not be collected! I said not much more you could do Legally. In 3 years I NEVERdid not get paid!!! And I could probably still go to jail for some of my tactics. Getting paid legally can be hard some times but if your persistent you'll get yours.
