Usually underpowered, and really high mileage.

Well Tosch's truck avg'd 9 for the last quarter. And I think if you just ran cars on a LP wedge you could do a better, those oversize pools are a huge wind drag.

Myself I'd only look at the Cummins 8.3 powered trucks, I just seen to many people having to replace the 3126 cat engines with less than 300k.

Wouldn't you have to cut that frame down so the truck and trailer wouldn't be too long? I have seen an old fedex truck with a wedge before that hadn't been shortened but that truck sure does seem long. About how much does it run to shorten them frames?

Thanks,
Tim

Cost mr $700 to shorten frame, get new driveshaft, and move air and electric lines to back of cab (they were originally located at the end of frame). All work was done at Freightliner.

I would. Its always easier to shorten than stretch for a sleeper, I had looked into it and $5-700 should get it done.

Well, talked to my mechanic today and he saids to stay away of the3126 Cat. not a high milage getter. There not a sleved engine and there about the same money to replace with a new one as to overhaul, around 11.000 bucks. I guess these make great truck up to or around 300.000 miles then the shop starts makeing the money. My buddy said he would be more then glad to drain my bank acount for me but would feel bad if he didnt warn me first.
